I was a lab assistant for his CHE131 lab. The way he explained things was very confusing to the students and I found myself needing to help more students that I expected because nobody understood the directions. Quite frankly, I didn't either. He's great guy, but not a great teacher. Very confusing.

Dr. Miles is a great person and funny teacher, but he often does not make things very clear in class. Not to mention he has no idea when class is supposed to end and always goes over. He expects basic chemistry students to know more than they do. If you ask a question, he will not answer clearly. Definitely get extra help, but you will like him

He is the worst professor ever. And the bad part is I like him as a person. He has a lot of information in class and still tends to be vague. His practice tests have little to nothing to do with the actual test, and getting partial credit on test is impossible because even if you do a lot of it, he still takes off the majority. Do not take.

He's been to class after a few drinks before. He told me I was an idiot for not being able to figure out the answer to a question. He spent half of lab going over pre-lab even though we knew the stuff. He would leave after he lectured. He has favorites. He's a jerk and flirts with girls. Take Montgomery or Fieberg.

You have to have the right sort of personality to like Dr. Miles. He is extremely haphazard. You never know what he is going to say when you enter his office, but if you stay there long enough he will help you tremendously. I think he is a tremendous asset to Centre.
