It takes a while to warm up to this professor, the teaching style is lecture based and you are expected to take note in class and the books. However, the class remains interesting as she engages with the rest of the students. Papers and a final , standard. She is the most awesome professor of you want to take her for electives it any Africans studies she review is basically the test 10 out of 20 questions from the review will be the test and she understand we all have lives, talk to her in advance about questions inform her, she is awesome sweet kind nice and just perfect in taking my 3rd & 4th class

She's a very nice lady but boring. I hated going to her class. She goes pretty fast on the lecture making it hard to take down notes. But one good thing she gives study sheets that are basically everything that is on the exam.

Very approachable etc, however we didn't stick to the syllabus & spent most of the class talking about the presidential campaign. Lectures were quite boring, unfortunately. Take home midterm and final papers, pretty easy grader, although none of the material discusses in class relates to the paper topics.

Contrary to popular belief, she is not easy. You have to work hard if you truly want to get an A. She is a little lackadaisical; she scarcely writes on the board or move out of her seat. Her lectures do not help with the papers or exams. As is, I recommend her for serious students only. Not the ones who think Africana Studies courses are easy A.
