Purnima was the best prof I had during my MSW. She was informative, passionate, and helpful. GO SEE HER AT HER OFFICE HOURS-talking with her one-on-one will help you so much. Don't be afraid to ask questions she loves sharing knowledge. The course work can be dense and hard but she makes sure everyone passes and does well.

Purnima is very passionate about her work and you can see this in the way she presents course material. She is extremely knowledgable about research in general, particularly in community-based research. She is approachable and is an excellent resource when you need extra assistance. Purnima is an incredibly thoughtful, hardworking, and sweet person. If you have any questions or concerns, go talk to her. She is very accommodating and wants students to do well. Several readings, but her slides were detailed and contained most of what was needed for exams and she told us about which readings to focus on for studying.

She is an amazing professor. If I get a low mark in her class it only means that I did not keep up. She is extremly knowlegable and her power ponts very rich. The passion for her work is so clrear in her teaching. She enrich her teaching with examples of her own research. I recommend her class to thoes who are interested inreal learning.

Good god, run. she is BORING!!! attendance dramatically drops after break. her lectures are so unbearable that I stopped going to class after midterm and just read the readings. midterms and finals are fairly easy cause I studied. She could explain such an easy concept but makes it so complex.however, she is nice and friendly.

are people seriously whining about what a 'hard marker' purnima is? has it occurred to you that perhaps your essays and assignments are not as good as they could be? class is good, prof is great, unless you want to have everything handed to you and not work for your grades. you have the opportunity to LEARN something so go for it.
