Comment:

If you just want a class to get your math requirement out of the way, this is not the class. Her lectures were not always clear and the homework was much harder and usually had nothing to do with the lecture. I spent hours a week doing the homework and it generally did not pay off in the course.

I did not enjoy it at all. I found it very very hard to follow lectures which were all over the place. Spends ages on very basic points and no time on hard material but still asks in the tests. Assigns projects but does not explain them well. She knows her stuff and is a nice person but a horrible teacher.

I've heard she is a good teacher for intro level courses but definitely not a good enough instructor for higher level statistics classes. I don't think I learned anything in any of her classes but attendance was required. Her tests were much harder than the homework she assigned so you never knew what to expect.

Amazing calculus 1 professor! She was super nice and super funny in class. I went to her several times for office hours and she was always very helpful. She assigns homework and she checks to make sure you have completed it. She gives weekly quizzes, which are based on the past weeks material. Her tests are fair! Great teacher overall!

I struggled with Calculus AB in high school so I expected Calculus 1 at Lafayette to be very challenging for me. Thanks to Qin, my expectations were wrong. She gives all the tools you need to succeed. Her notes are detailed & the homework questions are similar to those on the quizzes & exams. No surprises! She really cares about her students.

She's nice and easy to talk to. She does have an accent but it isn't hard to understand her. I had her for a computer based statistics course and all you really had to do was show up sor class and turn in your final project.

I never would have taken this class if it wasn't required for my major. Qin is a horrible teacher. My class was doing very poorly, but she never curved and often didn't go over material properly. Unfortunately, if you take this class she is the only professor.

Qin was an extremely frustrating professor. Her lectures in class do not help with the homework at all, and she is very confusing. Her english needs some work and thus she is often hard to understand. Attending class is mandatory, she checks. many students did not do well in this class but she never curved the tests.

Very confusing and while she is enthusiastic about her class, the lectures simply went over what the homework was the night before. Usually you could expect to her the same thing every single week, and while I never skipped, I feel like I would get the same grade if I never showed up. Most of the work is extremely simple, but her lectures are bad.

I really liked Qin. She is incredibly enthusiastic every class which makes it interesting and sometimes funny. She presents the material each day in a really organized manner but she is sometimes difficult to understand. She assigns a lot of homework and collects it, so be prepared to work!
