Comment:
Quentin kept the class engaged in constant discussion where all opinions are allowed. He give readings, and has occasional "pop-quizzes" on the readings, but other than that he is mainly focused on participation and completion of assignments. I recommend taking his rebirth tragedy class if you like 60's-70's rock. Great teacher 10/10 would take.

You have to do the readings to pass. No homework, just 3 papers, a few pop quizzes on the readings, a midterm and a final. He's a very fair grader and gives you a TON of feedback. The lectures can be tedious, but they are really interesting. Definitely take him if you're an English major!!

I took QMillz for the second time this semester and wish I weren't graduating so I could take more. One of the most accomplished and knowledgeable profs here. That last post is way off the mark: he's a very fair grader if you do the work and attend class. (It's pretty clear that not all of my classmates do). If you're here to think, take him.

He's so annoying! 99.9% of the class is a pop quiz & the quizzes have nothing to do w/ the overall work! he'll ask the most minor, irrelevant things! a wicked hard grader! don't skip class bc you have to write a 500 word absence letter for each time you're absent & you'll b docked for each day you don't pass in the absence essay. DON'T TAKE HIM!!!!

He is a very challenging professor for a freshman seminar. The reading and essays are complex but it gets your mind working and you will be extremely grateful you took his class for the rest of your English/literature classes in college. You will be happy you took this class in the future.

His class was awesome. The material was very interesting and his lectures were very deep and analitical. The readings are not so heavy and his assignments arent bad. He is extremely helpful. He is very chill and he is one of the best professors at Suffolk.

One of the best professors I've ever had. That is not to say he's easy; his class is actually very challenging because it involves a lot of reading and writing. Regardless, he chooses awesome novels, ignites interesting discussions/group discussion, and is open minded for writing assignments. Highly recommended!

Excellent professor if you want to learn how to write a great analytical paper. The coursework expected is straight forward but the content can be difficult to understand at times. This seminar about classic rock was fun because we talked about 60s-70s rock culture all semester. Loose attendance policy, but you won't want to skip bc it's that good.

Easily one of the best professors at Suffolk. Great class, great guy. But a LOT of reading and writing, so if that's not your thing I would say to avoid his classes.

The class and the material was hard but he was always willing to help and answer questions. Definitely take advantage of his office hours. He will help with material questions and go over quizzes/papers. As my first year adviser he was great. Listened to all my complaints and was truly genuine and helpful.

Took his Freshman Seminar class on rock music (via Nietzsche) in the 1960s; it was awesome. He's funny, laid back & knowledgeable. Cons: a lot of books for the class, and A LOT of essays. Literally one every other week. Also, know what you're getting into! Nietzsche is deep stuff. Other than that, the class was so much fun; I definitely recommend!

I think he forgets that students still have work to do outside of his class. A five paged paper is fine, but not every week. Other than that, good guy and good sense of humor.

It's pretty clear that the students who don't like this prof are disgruntled slackers. Do you have to work hard? Of course: it's college, people. Q Miller is a passionate teacher who knows more about literature than anyone I've met. If you want to get your money's worth, take him!

I had miller for my freshman seminar and I hated the class with a passion. Miller as a person is a good guy, but i dreaded going to his class. Take the class if you want to write 5 page papers ever week, work hard on them and get C's....take someone else it will save you a lot of time.
