Took him online and he is not clear on exactly what he wants until after he grades it. Deducts points for any little detail you miss in your paper. Got an A for both US 1 & 2. You have to throughly research the topic (Google will be your best friend, book is useless). So happy this class is over! But I wouldn't have taken it with anyone else!

If you love History, you will enjoy this professor. Yes, his lectures are very very long but as long as you are there and participate once in a while you will be ok. You must hand in all assignments and he takes attendance every class. Make sure you save all his e-mails because sometimes he forgets to put in your grade but as long as you have prove

If you are a new student of his, just know it'll take a few weeks for him to warm up to you but once he realizes you are a serious student he'll respect you. Whatever you do, do not play with your cellphone in class. He will kick you out. We learned how the U.S. became a super power and he explains it verbally. You do a final, a midterm,& 5 reviews

It's my third course taking him as a professor and has become a good friend. GREAT guy! Very intelligent and passionate about history. His lectures are long (mind you I take the 3hr courses), but you do learn a lot. It's an easy breakdown: in class midterm (two essays), take home final, do a few movie reviews. That's it! All classes have been A's

Professor Mayer prepares you to learn and pass the class. All you need to do is read what he assigns, and write well structured essays. He is straight forward and to the point. As long as you answer the questions for his essays, you will do fine. He is a very fair grader.

One of the most insightful and knowledgeable profs at Kean. He really knows his stuff and his stories keep you intrigued. He really has a command of subject matter surrounding WWI and WWII. Your knowledge will increase tenfold just come to class and pay attention/seem interested. The assignments are very easy. Longest was a 250 word final.

Depends on how your learning style is. Class participation is limited except having questions. GREAT PROFESSOR though!! Answers e-mails, very insightful. Definitely enjoys history and tells good stories. Just do well on the 4 film reviews, attend class and take an interest. One midterm and final...not that bad. No notes, but you should be fine.

Took online class. Whole grade is based on 5, 300-500 word essays. First 3 essays I was able to google the answers. Get your stuff in on time and just answer the questions. No need to bs them since they're short. Easy A and the dude is easy going.

History of sex class gives 3 essays to do, take home through email, that was good. then one final its commulative pick 2 essays out of 3 also very good as long as you read everything he assigned then this should be piece of cake, he can be cocky at times if you catch him on the wrong side other then that he's pretty kool

Okay, very mixed reviews I see.And I can explain why... One day I went to speak to him about being on vacation during midterm and he had NO problem and allowed me to take exam when I came back. The next time I asked him a question he chewed me out and told me I was incompetent... hmmm...

I had Dr. mayer for 6 classes, and never got less than a B+. Show up to class and take detailed notes. He will spend entire class periods on 1 topic, and repeats things about them, which usually become the essay questions on the tests. If you can handle stories and lectures with no other interaction, take the class.

I had him for WWII and i thought he was a great professor. Granted he lectures for more than 2hrs straight but he knows his material. His stories are good. The class can either be easy or hard depending on how you treat him. If your mean and disrespectful than itll be harder. If your nice than itll be easier.

The best if you want to learn about history and life. if you need to talk on cell phone while class is going on,then you shouldnt take the class. He has some nerve to ask you to leave when you are talking on your cell while he is talking. Its only a cell phone.
