Comment:
In general the course was divided into 3 exams, two midterms and one final, and a participation mark in the form of a question presented in class and submitted online. Prof can be real boring at times, and goes on long stories for examples. Read the textbook several times and you will be fine. Some questions in exams come from in-class material

Passionate teacher, very personable. David seems like he really enjoys teaching about health psych. As in any other class, read the book and study the ppt slides for the exams and you'll do fine, he's a fair prof. Wish there were more genuine teachers like David at SFU.

David is engaging and has great stories but tends to be repetitive. Slides are identical to what's in the text so you don't really need to go to class. Be prepared to read the textbook from cover to cover and memorize the whole thing to do well. Super test heavy, final was cumulative (covering 11 chapters) and worth 45% of final grade.

Dr. Cox is an amazing prof. His midterms are fair (mostly textbook based), he's available outside of class time, and he makes lectures interesting. No papers, just 2 midterms and a cumulative final. Humorous man, would definitely take his class again!

Really enjoyed him as a prof, while his lectures are not necessary-I suggest seeing him in office hours, he is very interesting and knowledgable. Tests are heavily based on the textbook, show up to class, if anything, just to ask him questions. No papers, just exams. I would take a class with him again in a second.

So much reading, you won't pass unless you read the book because most of what is on the test is taken from book. No assignments just tests. Lectures are BORING repeats same stories over and over. He's a nice guy but just so boring lol You can get a good mark by just reading test book, I skipped half the semester and got a B.

This class was a lot of work. I hated waking up at 6 am to go to an 8:30 class, but I never did regret going to this one. David is super engaging, passionate and knowledgeable about health psychology. I got an A in this class, and my advice is be prepared to memorize a lot. It's tough, but doable!

There are only midterms and finals but the exams are hard. You have to carefully read the text in detail and memorize all the terms.

Don't need to show up to class but David's lectures are very interesting. He brings in current issues and personal experiences about health. For exams, just read the textbook, understand main points, and use ppt slides as study guides.

David is a wonderful lecturer - I've always found his lectures to be entertaining. However, to pass this class all you need to do is read the book which he helped write himself. Overall grade is based on three exams that are made up of 50 MC, 8 definitions, and 2 long answer Qs. He gives great advice and inspirational stories!

Nice guy and genuinely cares about his students and the subject matter. LOTS of memorization for exam - easy to do well IF you have the time to revise, revise, revise! TMs are not great - unapproachable and a bit rude.

Very awesome and passionate professor. Exams are easy if you study well. But the TM's mark the written portion very hard. Would highly recommend this class just because of the prof. Anyone would enjoy David Cox's lectures and his stories. He is an amazing professor.

I'm not too sure if it's me who just don't like the topic, but personally, I don't really like this class. I found his lectures to be very boring and bland. His exams are not too hard, he won't ask on too much specific details. He's a fair prof, but not for everyone, make sure u really are into health system, otherwise u'll hate this class.

Attendance optional. Study the book instead and memorize possible long question answers such as health models, theories etc. Lecture isn't recorded. I got an A and I only attended twice--for midterms and finals.

This class was 09:30 in the morning so I never came to class. No lecture recordings too but I heard his lectures are interesting. I would've gone if it wasn't so early. Lots of memorization for the midterms short&long answers ex. theories. Attendance isn't mandatory just study the book and memorize possible long question answers . I got an A :)

David himself is nice enough. Very approachable but the grading component of this class seemed random. The tutor markers are very pretty tough and some of the multiple choice questions are strangely phrased. I was never sure what my grade in this class was and didn't like not having a standard grading scale.
