Comment:
He taught first half, second half by Armstrong. Tries to teach too much about his view on life with "adages" but the tests are WAY more fair than Armstrong's. Seemingly polar opposites so you can tell which questions are made by whom. Overall fair professor with interesting life experiences in biology but he needs to get rid of the adages.

Although he may be rough, when you have him in a Seminar class it allows Professor Wilcox the freedom to express his knowledge of the subjects that he is teaching. I respect Professor Wilcox because he seriously does know a lot about animals communication with hands on experience. It is his last semester here at Bing, so I wish him the Best.

Wow. Was that last comment written by Wilcox or what? Worst class I've ever taken and my lowest grade ever at binghamton. Began class with a stupid adage that seemed neverending and tests on material that is not covered in the class. Expects way too much from students with what he actually teaches.

This guy is amazing! he brings philosophy and real life experiences into a biology class, something that few professors do these days. His lectures are fascinating, and his experience in biological research is unparalleled. If you are the type of student that likes to think rather than regurgitate facts, try him out.

Never, and I mean NEVER take a class with this arrogant, self-righteous senile piece of garbage that somehow has the title of a professor. You will learn nothing, and he picks his personal favorites after the first week. Still easy to get a B in the class, but listen to him lecture to us about how smart he is is torture.

i agree with the other person he swears he's god's gift to man and is oozing wisdom..just teach animal behavior!!! he never taught us animal behavior. all he did was talk about karate stories...the class should taught as a philosophy course and not bio... i still don't know wether he knows any bio..completely ruined a good subject.

He didn't really teach Animal Behavior. He spent most of the time talking about adages and optical illusions saying it would be "an insult to our intelligence to lecture us" Sorry I took the class to learn about animal behavior not watch karate videos. He's a great guy but for animal behavior, take it with Anne Clark if you want to learn the subject

Passionate teacher and about the great outdoors. Helps students see the beauty of nature in many perspectives which not only opens your eyes to the world but to yourself. Only passionate biology students should take his class, others don't belong

He was such a nice man, but his tests were impossible. I found it very difficult to do well even when I studied very hard. He was always willing to help, though, and I should have gone to his office hours. He's very approachable.

Hard to follow sometimes, but very fair and very willing to talk to students, sometimes more philosophy oriented than bio oriented, but he loves his work and wants others to love it too, go to leactures, you will not BELIEVE what he asks on his tests

Not a professors place to bring his own views into lecture. Furthermore, don't need to see pictures of you topless. My heart doesn't ache over beetles, it's called high blood pressure. Finally, if lions come in, I'm running out the door!

He mumbles in class and should not force his views on the entire class. Not all of nature is beautiful. My heart does not ache for cephalopods.
