Prof Fillion is my favorite professor. I've taken his classes in both French and English and they're always amazing. You have to do the readings to know what's going on but it's worth it. I've never seen a prof so devoted to helping you find a passion for the class and the subject matter. Full of dad jokes and group conversations.

Prof. Fillion is my favourite prof at Laurentian. I loved every one of his classes (i've taken 3 so far) You MUST do the readings or you'll be totally lost but if you put in the work it can even be inspiring - I genuinely enjoy writing essays for him (even though I hate essays usually). Ive never seen someone so passionate about their content

If you don't understand what he's teaching then ask. You won't look stupid for asking him to dumb it down and most likely everyone else needs clarification too. Don't be afraid to contest what he's teaching as long as you can back yourself up. If you actually pay attention he makes really funny dad jokes that most people miss.

Totally awesome professor. Super nice guy and very approachable. He's very passionate about his work, knows his stuff, engages you with the material, and also tries to get you to apply the learnt concepts to your every day life and personal passions. Fairly tough grader, lots of readings, and lots of work (in the context of a 3rd year course)

Awesome prof, hes very passionate about philosophy and if you truly enjoy philosophy you will love his class. He's kind, cute, quirky, funny and knows his stuff. Super easy to approach, not the easiest marker but really wants you to think and engage yourself. Enlightening class if you pay attention and find philosophy discourse interesting.

Great professor, best I have had. Really tries to spark your interest and will spend any extra time you need helping you out. Always makes a great effort to be there for his students and to maintain interest. Very intelligent. Expert at Foucault and Marx amongst other expertise. I would highly recommend any class with this professor.

I registered thinking it was a bird course. It's not. Real genuinely wants his students to learn and understand philosophy, and his passion and enthusiasm shows great. He's not a believer in the grading system, but his marks seemed fair. Oh, and on a good day he'll let the class out 30 seconds early.

Stuck in the 70's, style wise. Other then that, awesome. He really tries and you can tell he likes teaching. It's crappy he got stuck teaching intro because a lot of it is pretty dry but he tries so hard to make it interesting, which is pretty funny.

One of my favourite professors yet, Real knows how to keep the class interesting (even when it's at night and 3 hours long!); he is well-spoken, witty and has a great sense of humour; his vast knowledge of philosophy is evident in both the content of his lectures, as well as his style of communication- a true philosopher in both theory and practice

One of my all-time favourite teachers. I took two classes with him. You can learn a ton from this dude. Crazy, funny, interesting and very very smart. He genuinely loves teaching... the guy drives from Ottawa every week to teach here!
