Comment:

He is a tough grader, but his lectures are interesting and clear. There's a midterm, final, and a grade that is the average of all of your journals and observations. His class can't be blown off and attendance is essential to passing. Expect a lot of reading and some writing. Despite being hard, he was the best teacher I've had.

I took his class in 1992. Honestly, I am using this survey as an opportunity to finally thank Rabbi Eldelstein for sharing his knowledge with me and my classmates. I found him unreasonable with his grading. Even after seeking help, I still received bad grades; wasn't helpful at all. I was very interested in the subject and thought that the lectures/films were fascinating but I was unable to complete the course :(
