Dr. Salerno is a great teacher! She is very personal and really does care about your performance in class. She wants you to get an A. Attendance is mandatory as well as participation. There are no tests only quizzes each week which are fairly easy. HW online on VHL Central M-F about an hour each day. Final is written and oral. Definitely take again

DONT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH SALERNO!!! Everything is online and she only ever reviews what you already did online. Assignments are due every single day, and she is super unfair about missing class, extra credit, and quizzes. She doesn't go out of her way to help you, and the way her syllabus is makes you think she doesn't want you to do well.

This professor is LIFE! She helps incredibly. there's no way you can fail this class unless you don't show up! She gives tons of extra credit, lots of work but she makes it fun! She gives 8 free days but trust me don't miss class she teaches a lot of material in one day so you'll be lost unless you go to her office but I encourage you to take her!

She is not a native speaker so she is easy to understand. She makes class fun. She is very knowledgeable. She does make you take responsibility of keeping your grade but shes a great prof. She has so many opportunities for extra credit and tests aren't bad if you study for them. Be aware that quizzes are on both sets of vocab per that chapter.

Salerno was a great professor. I took Spanish 1 on a limb because I needed a 5th class and I ended up loving it. She made it fun to go to class and because of her I am actually minoring in Spanish. I hated Spanish in high school and now I love it. Would take again. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Wasn't thrilled about taking Spanish, considering I hated Spanish in high school. Professor Salerno not only made class interesting, but I actually enjoyed going to class, and it was at 10 AM. Expect homework and studying, but it isn't anything you wouldn't have for another class. Wish I could have her for Spanish II next semester.

At first I was so mad that I had to take Spanish. After going to a few classes I started to really enjoy it! Prof. Salerno is amazing at what she does. She is so helpful and makes sure everyone understands the material & She offers a lot of extra credit! She does take attendance but she is very understanding and you can miss a few w/o penalty.

I did not like her at first but as the semester went on I appreciated her a lot more. She can definitely be rude at times, especially if she doesn't like you. DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE IN CLASS or she will flip. Overall a good professor and I would take her again!

There is nothing good to say about this professor only that she likes to talk about anything that isn't Spanish related. She didn't teach just talked and talked and talked. requires a lot of work, but is bearable. This woman is a hot mess.

She is very helpful when you make the effort, but definitely make sure you are going to go to class every single day. If you don't put in the work, she's not going to either. Not an easy A. Definitely study and take notes before showing up for every class. On the plus side, she lets you know exactly what you will be tested on before taking a test.

OMG I love Professor Lopez, she is the freaking best!! She understands that it is difficult to learn a second language and she helps you all that she can. There are extreme amounts of extra credit. She is just freaking lovely, I strongly suggest taking her for Spanish!!!

If you need to take spanish for your major, I would recommend Lopez. She teaches the material in a down to earth atmosphere and is really helpful if you have problems. She's witty, and her class is actually fun to attend. She tells you what to study before you take her tests and gives TONS of extra credit. It's near impossible not to pass. LOVE HER

Seems stern at first but Lopez is a fun, understanding teacher as you get to know her. You are of course expected to do the work however. When she speaks in spanish she doesn't speak ungodly slow but speaks with enough clarity to follow most of what she says. Although I got an A without hardly any class participation she does push that.

Lopez is a great professor. If you try hard and go to class, she will not give you a bad grade. She really wants you to do well and will try her hardest to have you understand what is happening in class. She tells you what to expect so there isn't any suprises. Take her you won't be upset that you did.

I didn't like her at all. She moved way to fast and played favorites with students that did well in the class or that she had previously. It was very frustrating to deal with her and her teaching styles. I Don't recommend her for any one taking a Spanish class who has not taken one in the past or struggled with it.

I'm doing decent, but i'm pretty good at spanish. DO not recommend her, if your new to spanish or had a hard time w. it in high school. Moves pretty fast. Homework (online graded assignments) every class night. Need book & book key. Class is fun, a lot of group work. She's pretty nice, makes things interesting. Do not take if new to spanish.
