TAKE CPS430 FIRST!!! Learn PHP, javascript, css, html, xml, & mysql in one semester. Tests include obscure subject matter - read and remember everything! No Jquery, AngularJS, Google Analytics, Spring, or Hibernate. Java is the language of choice at UD - he said students struggled to learn JSP. Gowda is nice & smart - conveying info is his weakness

Horrible Professor. SERIOUSLY does't know the material he is supposed to teach. Spends all semester covering javaFX and then expects you to do a project in the last two weeks in java Server Faces (not like javaFX), html5 (which the professor doesn't know), and java DB (which the professor also doesn't know). Hope that this professor retires.

Never gave clear instructions, even when asked, then made us redo all of the work when it didn't meet the requirements. Tested us on material from books he had given to only two class members. It is a project based course and he refused to talk about the project in class. Forced us to use expensive software when freebetter alternatives exist.

Absolutely the worst professor at the University of Dayton. Avoid this guy like the plague. His class is completely unstructured, and it is impossible to know what you're supposed to be doing to get a good grade in his class. All he does is drone on and on from a PowerPoint, and he expects you to memorize most of the book.

Doing nothing in class but reading powerpoint word by word and there will be mistakes reading that powerpoint, mostly what he do is to let you memorize a whole book. if you dont have a good memory, taking any of his class is a nightmare

Does nothing but read from the powerpoints. Tests ask for minor details rather than concepts or understanding; if you can just memorize a book you'll be fine, otherwise you're in trouble. Be aware that he'll say specifically what he wants, then completely change it - he'll usually let you "fix" your work, though.

Absolutely the worst professor ever. I am in his class right now, and he is practicing his strong suit: being completely vague and incomprehensibly stupid. Impossible to have a discussion with because he interjects with often unrelated information. Honestly--this is harsh--but a worthless class and professor. Sigh.

Prof. Gowda's class is a pain, but if you have to take, here's how you pass. You absolutely do not need to pay attention to his boring lectures. Do the study guides using info from power point slides and spend the 20 hours it takes to memorize it before each test. Ask him repeatedly for what specific things he wants done for the project.
