Comment:

His class is basically him rambling, sometimes on relevant information that he will test on, sometimes not. Does not give good study guides, or what to study for, so make sure to study something. No assignments, outside of what is mandatory. Very knowledgeable though, so that's a plus.

Dr. A is the best instructor I've had at Cameron and I've had many. I took him for Abnormal and Personality. If you go to class and take notes on everything he says, you will pass. He's a brilliant man who shouldn't be discounted because of his age! I feel lucky to have had his courses while he's still working. He's a wealth of info/experience.

Although a great man, he failed to be clear or effective at teaching. Classes are cut short often, which is okay, but only when I gain the knowledge to pass the only 4 graded materials all semester: the tests. Which he didn't do.

Lectures were pretty entertaining due to the course material. And Dr. Alexander usually had something interesting to say about each disorder so that was a plus. His tests are tough though. Matching a lot of the time instead of multiple choice. You're going to be expected to know the differences between a lot of disorders according to the DSM-V.

Dr. Alexander is getting up there in years, but he's one of those fun old guys. In the middle of lecture, there has been times where he's forgotten what he's talked about or stopped for 5 minutes to try and find a paper to reference. As for his grading style, the only grades are tests, and there's a lot. They aren't that easy either, so study.

There was absolutely nothing "advanced" about this course. He lectures from memory. If you had him in undergrad, then you've heard the same lectures and have taken the same tests. Problem is, he is getting more and more confused. He doesn't use any outlines or powerpoints to help him keep things straight.

He is literally the worst professor I have had yet. He will let you leave after 30 minutes of class and will ramble on about stuff he says wont be on the test. His review for his tests are lists of names and he touches on a few things but will word it completely differently on the test or puts stuff he might have mentioned ONCE. HORRIBLE CLASS!

Dr. A is an excellent professor. He is a wealth of knowledge and quite entertaining. My only dislike is that he tends to get off topic easily. Attendance is not required, but will definitely help on exams. I would recommend him to anyone taking psychology courses! :p

Dr. Alexander is awesome! I will take any class that he offers. He is funny and good natured. Like other reviewers said, DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! I bought the book and never opened it once except for clarification, but I could have just searched wikipedia. Attendance is mandatory since all tests are on lectures.
