Comment:
Brax is a solid teacher. There's no homework only 2 essays and 3 tests. You have to get used to his tests. The entire class is him lecturing and you just have to take notes. He doesn't write on the board too much and if he does his hand writing is hard to read. Overall, I would say his class is on the easier side.

Comment:
Brax has a VERY left-leaning view on politics. He will make this VERY clear to the students, and will talk about his views A LOT. If you can stomach that, his class is average. His lectures are important, because that is where the tests come from. The tests demand you know the material, for he will try to trick you in the multiple choice.

With just 2 homework assignments & 4 exams plus final, this class was simple and straightforward. I was surprised how hard of a grader he was, but I also believe he was fair. He is an older teacher but sharp as a tack. Don't try and fool him (like signing your friend's name on the sign in sheet when they were absent) HE WILL CATCH YOU. Good class.

Only 2 homework assignments, both with a group. Most of the class is listening to lecture, but he is really good at making it easy to understand and interesting. Doesn't require you to memorize dates. However, this class is mostly good for audio learners, as he uses no visuals. Tests are easy if you pay attention. 3 tests, each with an essay.

2 papers due, 2 small books which are hardly used and a handout. No textbook used test based on class notes. Better notes equals better grade. Way to hard for a history most of class was not fairing well. No extra credit or study guide. If your looking for an easy A or GPA booster look elsewhere because getting a B is hard enough.

This class is very easy. you show up take 1-2 pages of notes per class. The test are interesting but I didn't find them very hard, i easily got a B on all 3 tests. Just take good notes and you will do fine.

Dr. Brax is a nice guy. He says it in the beginning of class. I also love his humor. Just don't underestimate him. He may be old, but he's blunt and means what he says. When it comes to his lectures, pay close attention and make good notes. If your notes are good, you will pass the class. Tests are pretty easy, just beware of his TF questions...

Dr. Brax is a great teacher and is funny. I thought this class is averagely hard because I didnt do good on the tests. He has group projects which are interesting because you can show your creativity. He only gave one extra credit assignment.

Lectures were interesting & funny. Tests are a little hard(focus on essay Q). Papers were kind of fun. He grades a little harshly ("A" student: C/B on tests & finished with a B). He likes lots of class discussion. Enjoyable but requires effort.

I love history. I hated his class. Avoid taking Brax if have strong political views, can think for yourself, or tend to like to voice your opinions. It's not a hard class per say just write down everything he says, study your notes and parrot back what he said as though he's the smartest teacher you've ever had and you'll do fine.

A truly incredible professor who not only knows the subject inside and out, but makes it very interesting. He is not easy but this is college and he treats it as such. You actually have to attend and study! Loved him.

I have taken professor Brax before and his style is still the same. You have to attend class and take notes, studying for the test was real easy. some people still complained about his test. But it was easy if you put in a lil effort. There were 2 papers and 3 exams, exam consist of T/F, short answer questions and an essay question.

Great teacher. He expects high level work, and yes, you need to show up and take copious notes. He makes a lot of old guy history teacher jokes, but he doesn't lecture on anything not important. The Vietnam class has 3 weeks of veterans speaking, it is incredible. Take the class just for that. Two tests, two papers. Easy peasy.

Very good teacher. He tells jokes and instructs with passion for the subject. Take good notes and fully understand the material because all the test contain tricky true/false questions. I recomend his Hist 107!

The class is very hard for me So i dropped the class knowing I would not have past.Anyways His lectures are good but he goes off topic a lot and he hardly writes on the board so the class is very complicated. It would be easier for a audiotory learner then a visual learner so I suggest you take a different teacher.

I enjoyed his class. His lectures are interesting and he's pretty good at keeping the class involved. No homework, just exams, 1 group project, and 2 papers. His exams are super specific tho- don't expect to get by with just your own knowledge (like I did at first!). Can be a bit ideological but he welcomes debate.
