Absolutely useless as a teacher. However, if you plan to teach yourself chemistry and you think you will have enough time a semester to attend a lecture, recitation, lab, do weekly lon capa problems, fill out twelve page weekly lab reports, and teach yourself from the book for pop quizzes, be my guest.Final is fake-does not count-used for research.

I feel that he is an okay professor, will single you out for talking like your in high school , but he's okay. His quizzes were incredibly hard, but he curves so much that it doesn't matter. Take him if you want to get a good grade and move on to Organic.

Hard to understand, lectures don't make sense...everything I learned, I learned from the book, so get used to teaching yourself. No exams- ALL pop quizzes on stuff he doesn't teach. Final is ****ulative exam over chm 1 & 2 and REALLY HARD. See him in his office hours and he's really helpful. He gives a good curve though- I got an A.

He was pretty hard to understand, but overall he really doesn't fail anyone provided you did something/anything while you were in his class. He was pretty frustrating at times, but I still got a B when I thought I was going to fail. He curves like I don't know what. I would recommend him just to get the class over with.

You'll find out from day one that you're in for nothing short of hell while you have his class. Even with his microphone, he's barely understandable. His lectures start off normal, then spiral down into a tangent on why he threw out all his aluminum pens... The final is an impossible ACS exam that covers CHM I & II. All I can say is get a good TA.

The worst professor I have ever had since I have been in college. A very weird guy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Dont take his class even if its the only one avaliable. Save yourself the stress and money from dropping the course. I can seriously say that out of the 300 people in the class, not one of them thinks hes a good teacher. Needs to be fired NOW!!!

He DOES teach the material, but in a way that is mostly useless for the in class quizzes. He talks pretty slowly and quitely, but he is in fact a Zen Buddhist master (google it). He drops the 5-7 lowest quizzes and curves the final ridiculously. I got a 45 point curve. Do well in the lab and practice the material and you will get an A.

THIS IS THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!! Going to class is only useful for taking the random quizzes that have nothing to do with anything we've been reading or that he's been "teaching." I'm barely passing the class and that's only thanks to all of the outside studying I've been doing. If it weren't for that I'd be failing. VERY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

Strange old man. Very smart, but a terrible professor. My notes never made any sense. Quizzes didnt follow the homework and I think the TAs were as confused as the students. Go to class for the quizzes and go to office hours (he writes your name down), but I dont recommend taking him. Definately better than Dillon or Byfleet though. Got an A.

terrible teacher. nothing that comes out of his mouth makes sense. gives random in class quizzes and no tests except for the impossible chem 1 and chem 2 cumulative final. his curve is weird. people with 70's get the same grade as people with 85's. according to him, "grades don't matter"

not the best teacher...i found him to be helpful in his office hours. I wonder if freeze dried strawberries are that good? its really one of the few things I cared to remember about his lectures. I was late to every class, seldom looked at the book, but did listen in recitation..the curve is huge, but do your best on quizzes to learn (if any) chem.

He talks about topics in class, but usually those random things that he say is more interesting than the materials that we are suppose to learn. Its hard to pay attention to him in class b/c he as a monotonic voice. Very nice out of class if you go see him. You can get an A w/o curve if you just read the textbook, but he gives a huge curve anyway

Outside of classroom he is a very nice, quirky old man who just wants you to learn chemistry. Inside of the classroom he is a spawn of Satan who leaves you more confused than when you entered. Get a good TA and SHOW UP TO CLASS AS HE GIVES POP QUIZZES AND NO EXAMS, and start praying. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE.
