Ran is by far my favourite prof at UVIC. He brings his experience to everything he teaches, and genuinely wants his students to do well and will do anything to achieve that. Lectures were heavy, but that is because this class is only offered once a week. He puts in so much of his free time to open the lab on weekends, which is highly needed.

Dr. Donaldson is great. He is wise, patient, and caring. He has a great deal of experience and it shows. He's very receptive of feedback and answers all questions in great detail. He marks fairly, and his lectures are well organized. If you put in the effort to study you will do well in this class.

The David Attenborough of UVIC. If I could pay him to be the voice of SIRI on my phone, I would. He's a good teacher too .

Great wealth of knowledge. Relates a lot of his material back to his own experiences which is always helpful when you know that your prof has actually done the things he/she is teaching.

Ranald Donaldson is the best lecturer that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He inspires students through his own limitless curiosity and attention to detail. I am very glad to have taken his classes - the depth of his class material left me far better prepared for the skeletal components of medical school than I could have expected.

Ran is by far the most caring, dedicated professor I have come across. This is not a filler class, or something to take for electives, and it is an incredible amount of material, but Ran will be there for you and his students every step of the way. It was an absolute pleasure to be in his classroom, and I recommend him to anyone interested in bones

This is NOT an easy class, but Ran is an amazing instructor and will go out of his way to help you learn if you put in the time. No text assigned, or papers, projects or presentations either. By far my favorite instructor at UVic, I even volunteered as a TA for 3 semesters afterwards because I enjoyed his classes so much.

Ran is awesome. If you do you're share, he'll do is. He's extremely hard working and wants the best for his students. His course isn't hard, but it's A LOT of information. You have to work at it, but you will be rewarded, as Ran is really fair. He has GREAT stories too!

Amazing prof and generally nice guy! Goes out of his way to help if you have questions or concerns. Very understanding. You really have to work your butt off in the class to do well, though. Make sure you go to the lab!! And do NOT try and study one or two days before an exam. At least a couple hours every night would be my recommendation.

Dr. Donaldson is an amazing professor; he will go out of his way to ensure you are comfortable with the course content, coming onto campus between his work at his MD practice and conducting review sessions on weekends in the bone lab. Plus he is really kind and funny. You have to study extremely hard for this course, but you'll enjoy it!

Incredible. The summer course is only 6 weeks, so you have to work hard, but every minute is worth it. Dr. D. is an incredible man. Not only does he come in *unpaid* on the weekends to help, he inspires TA's to volunteer time for the class. It helps that UVic has a great collection of bones. Use the lab!

BEST PROF EVER!! Honestly, most busy man in the world and still manages to smile everyday and be so genuine in the want for his students to succeed. As long as you work your ass off in this class you will get a good grade. Just make sure you make the lab your second home before mids and the final... don't worry you'll learn to love and miss it!!

Best teacher ever! The most helpful and most interesting teacher I have ever had. You definititely have to put your time in to this class. (4-6 hours every week in the lab, on your own time, to do well), but I have never learnt so much and the process was fascinating and fun. 3 mult. choice/lab exams. Take this class!!!

Great teacher, excellent class but be prepared to work hard! This isn't a birdy course but if you work hard you will gain a lot of knowledge about human osteology (which is good!). Dr. D is very approachable and friendly--he even bought us timbits for the final exam!!
