It took me a while to warm up to how formal this professor is. He may not be cool since he looks like a bank manager, and he is strict. He will teach you to sing by sheer force of repetition of great singing habits. If you want to learn to actually sing, he is the most brilliant voice teacher ever, and I had several. He earned my respect.

Loved this class! Dr. Tweed makes it fun and he has so much to teach. I think I learned more about singing in one semester with him than I have my entire life. I felt that I really grew as a singer and can't wait to take another semester with him.

Dr. Tweed is an amazing conductor with a huge amount of musical knowledge. Rehearsals are always productive, but be aware you'll be expected to practice at home. The music is college level, so expect to put your back into it!

Expects the best from his students and gets results. If you want an easy A this is not your class, if you want to work hard, learn and perform quality music, he is your teacher. He has a good sense of humor and really cares about all his students.

He is a good teacher. He really knows his stuff and strives for perfection. He might be a tough music director but he can teach you a lot. He gets a little temperamental when his students don't practice or do good. If you don't intend to practice and give 110% then his class is not for you.

Dr Tweed is very hard. I took many classes with him and never worked harder to barely pass. He is a very hard grader and is strict about going to class and being early. The main problem that I have with him is that he has favorites in each class and treats his least favorites, like me, badly.

Do not be tardy or absent. Do not talk back. Practice! As far as he is concerned, you are not a person or student so much as a faceless "professional" part of his life's work. He is surely something of a god to himself, but he really is brilliant and talented, passionate. You'll learn a lot if you can brownnose enough to stay on his good side.

I've performed most of my life. He is what every striving & motivated performer/instructor has wanted: Blunt, truthful, and informative. His perf. exp., careers, and education give him the right to be extremely tough. Take his classes if you want 2 have your already built skills refined. His classes will put U above everyone else when transfering.

Tweed is special. He is great because he knows everything, and he will really prepare you. Take him because he is worth your money.However, he is bad because he picks favorites and he keeps teaching harder things when half the class isn't ready for it. It will make you feel like your not good enough, and he has been known for hitting the piano.

I've been a violinist my whole life pretty much...and joining the orchestra I was really apprehensive (new environment etc) but he was sooo open about me adjusting. I think I am the youngest one in there, but I caught on really fast, he helped so much!

he's a very passionate teacher. you MUST have some singing talent if you want an A. Some students just couldn't sing and they all got C's no matter how hard they tried. sometimes i felt like i was watching american idol, haha. He grades hard, but i know the "proper" way to sing beautifully.
