If you want an easy class don't take him but if you want to really know the material and are willing to work hard take him. I had him in trig too and I kinda learned his teaching style. He was always willing to help me during his office hours and I ended up earning as A w/o the final. If you do the practice problems and homework, you'll be fine

I would not recommend this teacher to anyone. His notes are very clear and easy to understand but he picks the hardest questions to put on the test. I hated his tests. Do not take this teacher. My class started with about 20 people and at the end of the semester there were 7 people left...no lie. Take Wilkerson..she is the greatest!

This course was pretty hard, but Plotts is definentaly one of the better Professors, He explains everything as many times as you need and goes into detail on each subject. If you dont like Hard courses beware! Cause he grades tough and the material is dificult but he is fair and very very helpful. Sadly he is retiring...

Definately the hardest class i've taken while getting my AA. He's a smart guy, makes sense, and is really organized, but the class is jsut extremely difficult and requires a lot of time.

Nightmarishly difficult course. About 50% of his calc 2 students have to retake course each semester. I had to as well. Plotts is a great! teacher though. The course material is hard and he grades test tough. However you will leave with a solid understanding of calculus and should have no problems in calc 3 or DE if you majoring in engineering

I quit my second job and dropped my work load down to this class and HUM. I do the majority of my homework get tutoring and help outside of class. Lots of the material was new stuff for me. I talked to him a few times outside of class and he was helpful at first. Then I started to feel dumb. It sux having a class days a week. The tests are HARD!

He can be helpful if you come to him outside of class. He is not especially helpful one-on-one in class because there is so little time to cover the subject matter. He really expects you to do the HW, get tutoring and work in study groups. If you don't have time to do this than taking him for MAC 1147 is NOT a good idea. VERY HARD TESTS!!!

Professor Plotts is a fabulous Latin teacher! It doesn't make it easy but he does offer in class and out of class help. He also offers extra credit options through out the semester. One of the best teachers I've ever had. If you want a good language to start with, take Beg Latin with Professor Plotts!

Get ready to study, if you want to test out of the final you will have to study 3 to 4 hrs a day outside of class. Also, make sure you dot your i's and cross your t's, he takes points off of your test for sloppyness. One of the clearest lectures you'll ever hear on the subject.

Class is challenging. Tests are really tough. His lectures are very clear and he is willing to help anyone. He expects you to know everything including all the formulas.
