Comment:
Professor Falco is probably one of the most challenging teachers I have ever had, but this wasn't a bad thing at all. He is intimidating only because of how brilliant he is and how he makes you step outside your comfort zone. He really made us think about things. He is not an easy professor, but if you're up for the challenge, take his class.

Hardest class/prof I've ever taken. Do not take unless you love lit. He has an abundance of knowledge, but when it comes to opinions about a topic/book he will disagree with you and tell you, you're wrong unless your opinion lines up with his. If you show up to class and meet with him outside of class, he will help you as much as possible.

I had some mental health issues throughout the semester and Prof Falco was extremely accommodating and understanding. He has a wealth of knowledge to offer his students.

Very intelligent, very well read professor with lots of life experience. Will question you on your interpretations, and isn't afraid to ask you to expound on your ideas or disagree with you if he thinks you're wrong. Respect him and he will respect you. He has only ever been polite to me even what I disagreed. A shining example of a Professor.

Professor Falco is very intelligent and wants to help his students succeed, but he has no tolerance for incorrect answers/discussions. He is quick to tell you if you are wrong, very abrupt about it and does not believe that he can ever be wrong. I will not be taking a class with him again.

Brilliant professor who has no time for idiocy or laziness. If you can't follow direction or if you aren't interested in being a diligent student, don't take the class. If you respect him, he'll respect you. If you make the extra effort he is more than willing to give you feedback and help you out with anything. Easily maintaining an A.

An amazing professor. Yes, he rambles, yes, he sometimes gets sidetracked, but that is irrelevant in light of his erudite scholarly status and amazing intelligence. Plus he is COOL and has a ton of life experience. The BEST Prof. I've ever had!

He did tend to drift off, but on the first day, he warned us about it and told us to call him back to the subject if he did so. The exam was a little tough, but it turned out okay. As for papers, his grading is not that difficult...as long as you don't write make sense-even a little, you will be fine.

Loved Falco. Took 3 classes with him when I was at UMBC. The 2 exams I ever had with him were pretty difficult but I did very well on his papers. Come up with original and interesting paper topics, talk to him about your ideas, sources, etc and you wont have any problems getting an A.

Falco went on tangents more often than he discussed the subject material. Although he read us the riot act on the first day (for at least half the class), all of the rules he set up were eventually loosened or abandoned. I was really looking forward to taking this class but the professor let me down.

Probably one of the best professors I've ever taken. He is not easy at all but he's fun and interesting. All you have to do is show a little interest and participate in discussion and he'll give you a lot of leeway. Take him!

Awesome teacher, goes on awesome tangents, but gives no homework, takehome exams, and will only cover what we want to cover book wise. We may be behind schedule but it does not matter because everything is interesting. Did I mention he gives out paper extensions like it does not matter.

Despite his nerdy "Woody Allen" appearance and voice, the man is as intense as a laser beam. He's brilliant, exacting, fierce, and absolutely dedicated to his studies. He expects a great deal from his students, and you shouldn't let him down. His classes are always fascinating. He wants you to learn, to get culture. Don't disappoint him!

Big favoritist. Demands and grades heavily on participation, but instead keeps talking about his personal opinions CONSTANTLY. We were always 1-2 months behind schedule, didn't finish a single book, but he blamed this on the students, saying that they didn't read up. Assignments given+graded late.Grading criteria given 2 days before end of classes!

This is a great class and i loved Prof Falco. You definitely have to do work in this class and its not easy, but it is interesting and Falco always finds a way to relate it to something else. good sense of humor and doesn't take anything too seriously. BE ON TIME! gives excellent study guides for exam and offers help for paper writing.

This class has to be the one of the most difficult classes I took because not onl is the topic difficult in itself, but Falco makes it so much more difficult. He has so much knowledge, and it baffles him that the students don't. "I can't believe that you don't know this," was one of his fav. lines. However, he is a really interesting professor!

Great guy, great sense of humor! Hardest professor I've ever had, but I learned so much in his class. Just keep up with the readings and write down every word he says in lectures. Don't let him scare you; I highly recommend him!
