Comment:

Korpi is a good teacher. He is tough and seems intimidating, but overall he is good. As long as you communicate with him whenever you are confused or need help, he gives good advice and responded within 24 hours. As long as you do your work on time and reach out when you need help, you will do good. Your final is 10 pgs so make sure to get resouces

Korpi is amazing! His lessons will follow me throughout my education & beyond. He has a knack for giving clear directions & if you follow his instructions you cant go wrong. For whomever called him incompetent- I think you rated the wrong professor. Amended assignments received an AMPLE amount of time & extensions on top of that. Highly recommend

I am currently enrolled in Professor Korpi's class and all quarter he has been incompetent. From posting the wrong assignments and making you do them the day before they are due to taking 4 weeks to grade your entry work. He has made this quarter more stressful than it should have been. I would not recommend at all.

Comment:

Dr. Korpi is a very caring professor and is very easy to communicate with on the phone and by email. However, some of the instructions he gave were unclear and confusing. I felt as if I were going into half the assignments blind folded. Dont take the class if you dont know APA. He is very understanding to students lives outside of class though.

Ray is a really nice guy. Very flexible and understanding. I didnt purchase the book I think if you look at Purdue owl and other online sources it is easy enough to figure out the APA citations so I wouldnt waste the money.

Ray Korpi is an outstanding English professor. He's flexible and understanding. He will happily assist you in understanding concepts and will even extend deadlines for you when you are having trouble or dealing with life issues. If you can, take him for your English requirement. Do your work and be responsible, and you will get an A.

When I took this class it was pretty much one 10 page research paper and a couple of other assignments and quizzes thrown in. He was a pretty easy grader for me, and I don't consider myself that good of a writer. I ended up with a 100% on my final paper. If you have any questions you can just e-mail him, but it's hard to mess up in this class.

He's been really great with me. The textbook you need, APA 6th edition is free online in an pdf so don't waste the $12 to rent the book from amazon. He'll work with you and gives feedback that you can actually build off of. He's good at communicating. I would take him again.

He's a good person, very nice level headed, understands that students have lives outside of class. A few assignments have been ultimatums which is not cool- complete and pass or I'll ask you to withdraw from my class-. Easily reachable, and has extended due dates if he fails to give ample notice that a deadline is approaching. Just prepare to work!

Overall, it was a good class and I learned a lot. However, it was a lot of work for a three credit class. He is a very fair grader and is always there if you need help. You will have to work hard if you want an A. Korpi is a funny and genuinely good guy, I would recommend.

This class was extremely time consuming, considering the fact that it was a 3 credit class. Be prepared to write a lot of essays and do a ton of reading. He is also an extremely inconsistent and difficult grader. The time spent in class is also a complete waste of time, as he has nothing planned for it.

Korpi is awesome. He's very considerate of helping you write the best you can by giving clear instructions, models and other tools. He has a sense of humor that he adds to the class which makes class time enjoyable. As long as you get what you need to done on time and give it your best, you will do great. Is open to help you outside of class time.

I found Ray Korpi to be extremely intimidating at first. He seemed intense and scary, but that is not the case. He was very accomodating and is willing to be flexible. He is quick to reply to emails, which is helpful when participating in an online course. I would recommend.

One thing I learned is don't take a 5 credit class online. VERY HARD! He's not the nicest teacher but he will help you only if you ask. TOUGH GRADER. you're required to write a 10 page essay and he has high standards which make sense since it is a college course. Challenging class and expect a lot of homework.

Korpi is the best teacher for a starting Clark student, in my opinion. He is very welcoming and understanding. I had him both for English 101 and 102 and had such a great time in his class. He is not the best at keeping up with grading and his handwriting hard to read however, he is a really nice dude and i'd recommend.

Although he is a tough grader, his directions on assignments are UNDECIPHERABLE! I had 10 of my friends and family who couldn't figure it out! When asked, he told me to reread the assignments, which used deadlines from years ago. He contradicts what he says he's going to grade you on, and you won't find out until after it's graded. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Class points are out of 1000. One paper that is worth half your grade. He's very funny and doesn't waste your time on pointless assignments. Cancels class a decent amount. Actually teaches some useful comma, semicolon, colon grammar stuff and how to do works cited. I learned a ton from this class. Will respond to email, sometimes even at midnight!

Korpi was a great teacher. He well prepares you for the final english 101 paper. We only wrote 3 papers (including the final). The class discussions are great. He gives participation points, grades well, and is easy to communicate with when you have any issues or questions.
