Comment:

Ms Haynes is the worst college teacher I've had. She expects 15 hours of busy homework outside of class each week that is worth few points. She is disorganized and slow to grade, and goes off on tangents. She will save the most important lessons for the last 15 minutes of class and routinely goes over time until the students just get up and leave.

Comment:

I found Ms. Haynes to be entirely unorganized (sends emails weekly regarding mistakes she's made in class, blames students for not catching them). She goes 15 minutes past the end of class (when she crams important info), her grading is unclear (you must explicitly ask how things are graded). If you want to learn/keep your sanity, stay away.

Easy A if you put in the work. A lot of opportunity for extra credit. You're allowed to redo tests to get extra points (average score between test & correction). She teaches "old school" mathematics (how she solves problems may not be in the textbook) but she thoroughly understands what's she's teaching which makes it easier to learn.

Lots of chances to figure out exactly what you did wrong on the assignment. Available outside class in the office. Lectures are sometimes boring if you already know the material

Carolyn does allow extra credit assigns a lot of homework but they are not worth a lot of points you can make up a few with extra credit. However, she does test on things not covered in homework can be frustrating but you do get to correct test and she will explain any questions you have. You have take home portion of test as well. Good teacher

Carolyn is very caring gives opportunities for extra credit. She allows you to correct test to get points back believes you learn from your mistakes. assigns a lot of homework but not a lot of points assigned per paper. Willing to help you if behind and responds to emails. Do your homework and attend class you should pass.

Carol was an okay instructor. Had her for 89 about a year ago. Gave several extra credit opportunities. Done all of the work from an extra credit packet. Went from a C to an A.

Here's the deal, I had her for all my pre-100 level math. Every quarter over half the class would be failing. Not kidding or exaggerating. Last quarter in 93, four out of 23 students were passing going into the final. I was one of them. Thing is, she bumps your grades up to a C most of the time if you fail, and bumped me up to an A. Not much HW.

Very nice as a person but will only teach you the easy problems in class not the hard ones. She will put material on tests that weren't even learned in class. Her exams are very hard and she makes them worth a lot of points. So expect to do every extra credit she gives you to get a good grade.

This teacher is nice/respectful of students. She can make the class enjoyable with her cliche old-school humor. I had her for both Math 91 and Math 93. An extremely tough grader,no credit for partially correct answers, dose not use canvas. Tests are often short, but can also be long with a practice, take home, in class, and extra credit portions.

This is beyond the worst teacher I have ever had, I struggled a lot in this class, she doesn't make a lot of sense. Her grading is the most confusing ever. She a lot of the time messes up on grading, constantly having to go up and have her fix things that were right the first time. She is not helpful at all, and definitely picks favorites.

Very thorough and approachable teacher. Knows lots of "old school" checks and short cuts. Great class for those wanting to learn. Tough but very fair. Attendance and participation are mandatory. Great teacher. Would definitely take again.

Carolyn is one of the best math teachers I've had. Clear and concise. Lots of old school short cuts and self checks other teachers don't teach. Daily homework assignments. Do them or you'll fall behind. Very accessible. Always willing to help. If you want to work hard, this will be an easy A. Would gladly take her again.

If you want to be confused during class then go ahead and take her class. She likes to favor students also you are not allowed to talk with your neighbors to understand the materials she goes over. Even if you work really hard on homework & test she won't care, marks down to much on test, doesn't clarify any answers you may have.

Class is so fun, time pass so fast. The good thing is she let u redo the quizzes and tests to get better grades. She is really nice and amazing lady who will help u no matter what anytime. I would defiantly take math classes with her over and over.

I've never enjoyed math so much in my life! I love how she explains your questions in detail & shows you extra tricks to help you in the future. This is the first A I've ever gotten in math. I would suggest her to anyone who doesn't like math or who has a hard time getting it easily.

Ms Haynes is awesome! She is always willing to go over an assignment or clarify concepts. She really bends over backwards for her students. She gives out lots of extra credit opportunities, and you can correct all your tests(except the final) for a better grade. She's a gem! If you have a hard time with math, she's your teacher.

Carolyn Means well, but she's a bit of a tough cookie and wants things her way (math wise) That makes things a bit tricky if you learned another way.. Plus side is she lets you make up your tests, or finish it so you can get a better grade! She wasn't what I thought honestly-- but she means well.. as far as 89 math instructors go. soso!
