There were some stupid and lazy people in the class and prof Blum had no patience for them. If you had a brain and were willing to work, he was good. Losers should not complain here and where he works now is irrelevant.

Working in google doesnt make him a good professor. If he cant teach what he knows. then it doenst matter if he is a rocket scientist. He wasnt a good professor. I dont know how Google hired him. :) oh well. as he say. Hello Fair World.

Professor Blum is the most awesome professor ever. If you want to do well expect to do some outside research. If that's a problem then you shouldn't take the class. He works at Google. If you didn't know.

He will give you some online tutorials to read and expect you to know everything, he wont teach any code. he is just teaching theoritical stuff. no coding, I really didnt like him or enjoyed him at all, he got also very bad jokes. He is telling and laughing himself and folks in the class laughing just to make a good impression, dont take him.

Great guy and great teacher not easy tough. If you study/read book from the beginning and do all your homewrks you will get at least a B. He answers to your q's by e-mail and very understanding if he sees effort from you. If you want real life programming class he is the one. He's one of the few @ BC who really has real world exposure.

Nice guy, know a lot. His problem is that he is not organized in his lecturing. Jumps from topic to topic. If you are a professional programmer, he is for you. If you are just an average student like me (my GPA high though) he is hard. You are lost and do not know what to expect at exam.

He jumps from topic to topic. He needs to be more organized. He is a good guy. His projects are too confusing. He should teach more programming and less java UML.

Covered a lot of material, more than other profs had on their syllabus. Expects a lot of participation. YOu can learn a lot or you can sit in the back and sleep but then do not complain as he wants you to be there and think. Did a lot to help students get their software and projects running.

A very personable guy.But not effective at teaching.Hasn't mastered the art of communicating concepts to students or in clarifying material that may be relatively abstract. To function well in his class you need to do alot of out-of-class reading.
