You have to work hard, but the result is worth it. Prof. Brennan is the straightforward, open-minded person, who teaches you not only follow the grammar rules but also read good quality information. He talks openly about the real state of education and encourages you to think critically about the resources you read. Help to improve yourself a lot

Comment:

Prof. Brennan is very clear in his instruction and feedback on what he expects of you. The readings he assigned were quite insightful. I took his online summer class, and it was definitely a LOT of reading, writing, and thinking (at least 10-15 hrs a week for me, a slow writer). But I pushed through, and I learned so much!

All of the reading material was extremely similar. I felt like I was writing the same paper over and over again. Make sure to read the prompt very carefully. If he asks you to write something specific don't try to use your own words. He will dock you points. Definitely would not take this teacher again! 10/10 would not recommend.

All of the reading material were articles online, and relevant to education. He's good at giving feedback and very responsive for an online professor. You average three assignments a week (quiz, discussion, and a paper). I think he's a bit tough, but I think it's more that he expects a lot of you. I like that in a professor, it shows he cares.

Brennan is the best professor I've had so far at SJCC. He puts effort into his course and expects the students to do the same. This class prepared me for college level writing, that has been put to use in more than just English 1B. Would reccomend to anyone want to expand their knowledge.

I LOVE Mr. Brennan! He's one of the best trachers I have had. He seems strict at first but he is so down to earth and funny. No one could make things more clear than him. If you have quesyions he will happily answer them until your clear. He taught me so much about writing essays. Take this teacher. You have to do the work,No slackers!

This is the best teacher at SJCC, He will not baby sit you, if you don't do the work he can't help you. Do all the work and it's a breeze. Awesome teacher. Learned more about writing in his class than my whole K-12 experience.

I feel very fortunate to have met this man. He is as great a human being and teacher! But if you don't want what he has to offer you then do not waist your time and money. If you try hard and pay attention he will help you to master the class, but if you are just taking up space be prepared to get called on it... cause homie don't play that...

His intro to this class scared me. But i stuck it out. Mr. Brennan's handouts regarding the papers, summaries and analysis' are clear!! He will always go over papers before they are do and guide you through and outline to get you set up. If you fail it is your fault not his. NO FINAL, the final its like a paper you turn in last day of class.

Ray's voice is sweet-hot: low, gristly and foul-fantastic. After his class, I took Creative Writing at a University. Ray let me send him a rough draft or two and he really helped me clean them up. You definitely gotta show up for him, but if you do, he'll pay it forward for you.

Took his class in Summer 08; it was like Reading and Writing Boot Camp!!! 6 summaries, 4 analysis, 3 papers, 1 midterm, and plenty of readings. No finals, thankfully! He may seem intimidating at first, but hang in there and do the work. You will harvest greatly from his class. I am not an English major, yet got a high A. Give him a shot!

Great Teacher! He seems intimidating at first, but as the semester goes on you can see the passion he has for literature. Brilliant man and helped me to become a better writer. Good for english majors!
