He was a genuinely decent guy. Took his classes very soon after finishing high school back around 93'. I just quit smoking recently and he was the first person to make me think twice about smoking. Loved the fencing class.

a lot of watching videos in his class. Just do the papers with his styles and you will save. Even though the test is open book, the answers are hard to find. But, still easy to get an A if you attend his class every time. He spends a lot of time just to tell a story that I don't understand. He doesn't like late students.

I went in with two years fencing experience, and while Coach taught differently, the community he fostered in the fencers was the true gift. Whether you're serious or just relaxing, this is a place to meet people and settle into college.

He found out students beat his system so he changed all the quizes. Lots of hw. Grade is based on cummulative points so if u don't like classes that base midterm and finals as 30% or whatever take him. he does not lecture whatsoever. Don't argue with him coz he's always right. That'll get you an A!

He will retire in spring 05, it's not really easy class like everybody says. Tests and quizes are very confusing eventhough he gives you all the buzz words, he will give you extra credit. Just be nice in class or he will intimidate you.

Good teacher. Tests were fairly stright forward, he tells you what to study for before a test and gives study guides and handouts. Only complaint is probably, he kept nagging me about attendence for being a MINUTE late. Overall good teacher.

I disagree with the review below. He teaches only bad habits. I know of better High School fencing teachers. If you have any interest in taking up the sport outside of PCC, find a local fencing club. If you try to go to a tournament with the skills he teaches, you will get killed!

Coldiron is great at teaching basics for fencing, but if you're interested in competing and in the real world of fencing, he is very outdated. Take it for starters but follow with more instruction elsewhere.

Jesus, this guy is a retard. He spends the entire class time talking about his dog, his grandchildren, his wife, and how our generation is lame compared to his. He never mentions the book, nor does he go over anything on the tests. If you want to sleep in class, go for this one.
