ONLINE CLASS Its a big fat no from me. Literally doesn't prepare for any of the lessons & you are forced to look at the multimedia library to learn, which helps somewhat but that's it. Furthermore, the email replies are cut/ paste from a syllabus after asking for extra clarifications. Test are hard and will need to use study plan option for help.

Comment:

Online Class. Each week there was 1 or 2 homework sections that were 15-30 questions each. Labs were due before each test which were really hard. The tests are all about 32 multiple choice questions but they were still difficult. The 5 tests make up 80% of grade. No extra credit or curves. You teach yourself. Looking up videos on hard questions.

Comment:

Deskins was the worst professor! He doesnt explain anything. He stands up at the board and solves math problems, but does not explain how to get the answer. He told our class that we had to learn on our own. He said that he expects us to do math 3-4 hours everyday in order to pass. If you cant learn on your own then I wouldnt recommend this.

Comment:

He took forever to answer emails and did not offer any help in this course. It was 100% self taught. I struggled a lot. Homework was due every week on Sunday and there was a test every month which had to be proctored. He rose my final class grade from a C to a B which I really appreciated.

He is great at explaining Calculus. I would take his class again for sure. I am not good at math at all, but by the end of the semester I began to understand it a whole lot more than before. The tests are difficult as they cover a lot of material. I highly recommend practicing the questions covered in class every day, repetition is key.

Doing all his homework doesn't guarantee you an A in his exam, as he gave different or heavier one on the exams. Also easy to mark 1 point off if your work doesn't satisfy him. I got a B, which is also the highest one in our class; while half of the class were gone away after several exams. Not recommend if you're NOT both smart & hard-working.

He won't work with his students. I tried everything to try and pass his class including talk to him but nothing worked. I studied so much but his lectures are no help even a little bit. He does all the easy examples with you but not the hard ones. Be prepared teach yourself!!!!

Doesnt prepare for class. Reads text book word for word to you. Only works about 4 of the even problems and then goes to next sec. Always let you out early but if youre not learning what good is that? Labs are not at all what you prac in HW. Says to ask ?s then talks down to you. Good luck to you. I just got my refund.

One of the worst math professors. Dropped class after two because I could tell it would be impossible to pass. He doesn't even teach. Be prepared to teacj yourself everything.

Does not give reviews or go over what will be on the test. If you don't show enough work on test he fails you although the test are multiple choice and not much work is needed. You are better off doing your homework and looking at the videos in resources to learn the material than going to class.

If you are a student who struggles with math or math isn't your best subject, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! His "lectures" are just him going over problems from the book, and he is HORRIBLE at answering questions. It got to the point where students would just ask other students their questions instead. He truly doesn't care if you pass or fail....

As a person, he is nice and respectful but as a professor not so good, makes test the hardest, a lot of online homework, with lab works that he would not return or explain, no extra credit for anything if you want to get over with math please don't take him use to love math now I hate it. He hardly uses calculator and is more of an oldschool....

Very good professor. Taught by working examples and the examples were almost identical to homework and tests. Sometimes he would get ahead of himself and confuse the class but was always willing to go back and clarify what he had done. There was a reasonable amount of homework and the tests weren't hard. Would recommend

Comment:

Online class. Had no contact with prof. except a questions about the textbook. I made a B because I worked really hard, copied the e-text by hand, studied hours and hours. I can't say he's not helpful b/c I never asked for help. Used Khan Academy & other sources. The labs were tough. The tests were really tough. But then I'm not a math whiz.

Comment:

One of the most unhelpful professors, even teachers, that I have ever had. He does not teach anything. He simply works out problems on the whiteboard and does not give any explanation as to what he is doing. Always ended class 15-20 minutes early.

Some of the more negative reviews are rather old, so I feel he must have improved over the years because I really enjoyed him. He works example problems which makes it easy to learn the concepts. I feel if you're someone who is good at math, you'll enjoy him. If not, I would recommend someone else.
