Super sweet, super passionate, extremely fair grading wise. If you fail this class its because YOU did something wrong, not her. She is very well versed in history and I recommend taking her classes

This was my first online class and she made it a really good experience. Very organized and willing to meet face to face if needed. She lets you know what you need to know for the open response questions on the tests then the other questions are multiple choice. Very easy class and would recommend.

Professor Benya- Soderbom is a good professor. I took the accelerated online course with her. No book was required. We had a discussion board on a chosen subject every week and a mid-term and final. She also gave an extra credit discussion board to get +5 points on your exam. I would recommend her class!

Professor Benya-Soderbom is a fantastic history teacher! Her lectures are very engaging! I took her one semester and made sure I was able to take her again the next semester! There is a lot of reading, but its best to keep up with it and not let it pile up, definitely pace yourself! She gives lots of extra credit which is fantastic!

I don't see why anyone would complain about her? Great professor all around. Makes boring material interesting. She's funny and intelligent. I took the accelerated class in the summer so no text book was required. I would 100% take her again.

I took her online course. She typed 2 weekly lectures and each week had a weekly discussion post, usually 3 questions. 3 tests in total and on test weeks, there is only one lecture. She requires 2 replies to classmate's discussions and she grades your replies as a participation grade. Very easy class as long as you put the time in.

Great prof, really passionate about the subject matter. Weekly reading quizzes are a big grade booster, and no midterm or final (at least in the honors class). Doesn't give a ton of written feedback on papers but if you ask she'll tell you why you received the grade. Definitely my favorite class of the semester!

There are some weeks that you have to read over 60 pages, 2 lectures , listen to video messages and answer a set of 3 discussion questions which is absolutely ludicrous. Find another teacher who goes a bit easier on you and doesn't dump so much on you at once.

Took this class during summer 2016. Textbook wasn't required because it was an accelerated course. Discussions on the lectures were pretty much the only grades for the course. Discussion criteria was not clear, assignments were docked points without any explanation as to why. Extremely tough grader. Final came from the lecture notes which was easy

Had Professer Soderbom for my HST112 online course, and was apprehensive about how it would go. She's very organized and punctual with grading. Gives awesome feedback and her lectures are very easy to understand (she writes them herself). Just do the discussion questions on time and it'll be a breeze. I'd definitely take her class again.

I have taken other online courses, and this course was very well organized compared to others. she makes you understand the material she adds audio to her lectures and her notes are very clear to the point. She is very passionate about history. Great online course overall. TEST are pretty start forward use her notes there helpful!

Great professor. Is passionate about history. Sends a big picture message and enables you to feel at ease learning. Usually this professor offers 2-3 tests and an analysis of a book (she gives 3-5 book choices.) These are usually the major grade points. Her classroom is very chill and is open minded. Professor Soderbom's classes fill extremely fast

She was fantastic. Her lectures were interesting, clear and at some points comical. Great personality, and has a way of getting all students involved. Most of the material she puts in tests and quizzes come directly from lectures. Willing to help at any time, if you're having difficulty she will go out of her way to assist. Would take again.

Passionate prof! Print the lectures out for future reference. She adds audio to her lectures as well which is great. Also, sometimes she links a youtube video or pictures that work with the lecture. Give DETAILS in discussion posts and test essays. Great at grading discussion posts by a certain time each week. Awesome online course to take.

I honestly had no interest at all in history prior to taking her class. she uses mostly her lectures with the book as backup reference. a few of her essays were pulled from the book so i did need it. she is very engaging and her essay questions focus on your opinion backed with facts rather than just memorizing names and dates. HIGHLY recommend
