People, MTA's department of fine arts is distinct because it is traditional, and teaches the foundations of fine arts. Becky's practical and theoretical knowledge was incredibly helpful for my cohort when we were there. Her seminars also pushed us to explore contested and unfamiliar areas. AWESOME

Quite outdated in her method. She has us painting nothing but still-lifes and clothed, sitting models (and, of course, self-portraits). Takes the brush away from you and paints all over your picture without asking first.

Knows her stuff and makes an interesting class discussion. Seem to have trouble communicating with her one-to-one, personally. Not sure if this is me or her. Mis-understands my statements, oral and written, a lot. Passionate feminist, which is awesome.

It was a great class if you liked painting yourself over and over again. Self portraits are great to a point, then you just get freaked out and look like the most vain person in the world. On a lighter note, I can now draw myself without a mirror.
