I loved her unit the most in ARTH 292. She taught us about the history of Nintendo, Apple, and other interesting subjects college students would actually enjoy. The rest of the class is boring considering we talked about older art, but her unit specifically was fun. She's slightly boring but she never forced us to answer questions.

Her section of this class was my favorite! Be prepared to take notes, but it is interesting information if you like art or are going into business.

She was a very effective teacher. The course was very easy and there were not too many assignments. At times she seemed to ramble on and it was easy to fall asleep because her voice is very dream-like. Overall, great professor!

Dr. Houze is very nice, but do not take this class, do not put yourself through it! Its very difficult there is only 2 tests and 2 essays and the rest of your grade is attendance. Unless you plan on going into art history, find a different ged ed to take you will regret it! SUPER HARD CLASS. And I am a usually straight A student & i didnt do well

She is very nice and definitely knows a lot about the subject. However, she shows way too many examples and does not clarify which ones are important to know for the tests. She also shows no notes; just pictures during lectures. She is very dry and will put you to sleep. Tests are okay, she shows 50 images that each go with each question + an essay

Her class switched teachers every unit, wasn't too bad. Textbook is optional, i.e don't need it. Close to moderate amount of work but you'll know what you have to do. Not bad.

She was a great professor! This class switches teachers after 3 lecture but when it came down to her lectures she taught great! You dont have to buy the book, NEVER used. Just go to class and listen to the lectures. She made her lectures interesting.

I liked this class a lot. The lectures were usually interesting and all the teachers switched off and taught their specialty so you really feel like you are learning it from the pros

Dr. Houze is an adequately effective professor. (She taught the second half of the course; Dr. M. Quinlan taught the first.) Her lectures were fairly clear although she could have better delineated the characteristics of some of the art movements. The examination at the end of her half was very easy; however, her study guide for it misled about it.

She's a nice lady but the classes were pretty boring. All we did was discuss the readings for the entire period. She gives a ton of reading, but you can usually get by without reading it all. The papers we had to write were somewhat hard, but I learned a lot.

She is a good teacher and actually tries to keep things interesting, but she does love those attendance quizes! (A word of advice: even if you answer "I have no idea", you still get credit for being there) 3 tests (including the final) So easy if you pay attention, I didn't even buy the book!

she is very nice. her tests can sometimes be hard (you never know what she will pull out of her head to test you on), but usually you get the swing of it by the end of the semester. my first test grade was a C, but by the end of the semester i had an A+ on the final.
