Comment:
David is a great man, but his lecturing is very unorganized. For a computer science professor, I expected a lot more. I currently have no idea what I have in the class because he does not post anything online. He is very scattered and calls his 100 point exams, quizzes. If you are not a computer science major, I would not recommend this course.

Dailey is a good professor, but your grade in his class isn't based on many things. We have about a month left of school and have only had about 4 things going towards out grades. Definitely watch the ted talks and do the readings for his class or you won't pass. His "quizzes" are actually 100 point exams.

The textbook is on his website online He is a helpful guy but his class is extremely hard for an intro to programming and information systems class. I'm not sure why the class is called intro to programming AND info systems I have yet to learn about info systems and have 2 weeks left. Do not take if you are not a comp sci major.

In this class you have to go out and seek the material for yourself. It is really important that you look at his websites. he will almost lead you to the answers to his assignments. All about critical thinking and self-satisfaction. You get what you put into the class.

Honestly, He is in my top three teachers to take in the CS dept. I have had him for five different classes so far. Very smart dude, but if you actually don't play around on the computer in class and pay attention and ask questions about your project, then you will do fine, Just don't expect any direct answers.

First off, Dr.Dailey is an interesting guy. You will enjoy his stories. His teaching is unorthodox at times but you DO learn. It's by far one of the most challenging teachers in the CS department but after his class you do gain a strong understanding of the material. If you want an easy grade, hes not for you.

At the beginning of the semester he was a very good professor. When things start to get harder and you ask him for help he doesn't help you. He says that he can't help you, you have to figure it out yourself

Worst professor I have had at SRU yet. He is a smart man but teaching is just not meant for him. If you have no prior knowledge of programming than you are screwed. Regret staying in this class and have to take it over again.

i LOVED Dr. Dailey. He is truly a nice guy, funny, and a complete genius. If you attend class and have an interest in the material you'll do well in the class. His tests are pretty difficult, but you're allowed to use notes, homeworks, and the internet. he goes over homework assignments in class and gives you a lot of help without doing it for you

I've had him for a few classes & theyre all about the same. He goes over abit of the material then goes off on random tangents & tells stories that ARE interesting but rly dont help you with the actual class. Tests are hard if you cant figure out what to study. If you arent a CS/IT/IS major try getting a dif Prof, Dailey will be TOO smart for you.

I like this guy he can be decently funny. Tests were difficult because of time limits. Homework was never a challenge for me so I ended up having a week(or more) of free time before homework was due. Of course, I WAS INTERESTED in programming. If you're not interested, and don't like a challenge, I suggest staying out of the comp. sci. field.

Unless you have an idea about computer programing I would recommend avoiding him. I took an intro course and the class was way over my head and his teaching style doesn't teach you anything. He isn't very hands on and most of his materials and examples are online,I didn't learn anything at all

He's a really smart man, but old. For a computer prof he is computer challenged. Also he loves to babble about tons of different subjects during one class period. DO NOT take this class before 10am you will fall asleep

Avoid this professor if you can. Class is entirely too hard. If you have no prior knowledge of programming you will not do well. Admits he doesn't like to give A's, and enjoys causing students confusion and stress. I've had straight A's the past 3 semesters and I got a C in his class. Doesn't teach anything on his exams

Dailey has to be one of the nicest professors at slippery rock. He offered me points for just stopping by at his office. He explains everything thoroughly. I would not recommend this professor to anyone who does not want to work. He actually taught me something which is very hard to come by these days.
