Comment:

Really easy class if you put your mind to it! Rebecca is more than willing to help you. She gives her opinion, but she lets you decide what you want your project to turn out like! Super kind, funny, and is excited about what she teaches! I never felt "limited" in her class. I actually learned an incredible amount of info. EEEEASY A!!!

Professor Ripple could be nice at times, but would always have some sort of snarky comment towards her students. Her sarcasm was uncalled for most times. She doesn't really have specific grading criteria because at the end of the day, its subjective upon her opinion. Projects were cool sometimes, but she limited creativity by only allowing her ways

Rebecca is a gem of a professor. Truly illuminating! This class can teach you many things if you allow it to. The projects aren't going to be "easy", per say, but they're not difficult either. APPRECIATE THE ART YOU MAKE IN THIS CLASS! It's actually really cool. Rebecca is incredibly helpful, funny, and intelligent. She never wants to be a bother!

She's not bad at all, honestly. 3D design is not for everyone. I thought I was going to fail miserably bc I didn't understand this class at first. But Rebecca CARES, and she's so intelligent - there's a lot to absorb from her. Yes, she's "moody", but who wouldn't be while teaching THAT class 4x a day? The class is what you make it! She's amazing!

Rebecca is a really sweet person, but what other people are saying is correct: she is very moody and it's her way or the highway. It doesnt matter if you like where your project is going if she decides she doesn't like it. Be ready to fall asleep during lectures and critiques, unless you're the one being reamed for your art.

Her class isn't too hard if you have some engineering or art talent. if you put in enough effort, she will give you a good grade. Homework was really easy and can be done in 30 min. without too much effort. Lectures are long, but infrequent. Advice: wire-form, make lots of curves. Bamboo: use diverse techniques. Scrap: avoid cardboard boxes.

I learned a lot about myself when I was taking her class, if you work hard she will work with you. She is amazing when it comes to your ideas and she will help you achieve the little details to help you with your project. I love her weird and interesting personality. She really made me love sculpture and I recommend her.

Very rude. I wanted to cry everytime I had to go to this class. It is in a garage and the seats are so uncomfortable. I felt personally bullied by her and I never felt like I knew what I was doing in her class because she was so unclear about everything. Its either Rebecca's way, or no way.

Rebecca is sweet, but is very critical. if she doesnt like a certain way you make something, shell mark you down. Lectures take forever so be prepared to get bored to the point of tears when you take her class. assignments are a little convoluted.

Rebecca is one of the best art professors I have had the pleasure of working with. I don't understand the negative comments on here. Yes, art classes are hard. They take up time. Thats to be expected. She's very sweet and will get very excited about your project with you. She allows room to experiment. I would love to take her class again.

NO! Do not do it. If you have to wait another semester til classes open up do that! I am doing you a favor! Too much hard work for an art class. I never expected it to be harder than statistics and business law. Take my word for it unless you love to build more than anything then go right ahead. Takes up a lot of the time you don't have in college.

I hated this class with a burning passion. It's an easy class but Rebecca is very demanding of how she wants things done. Long lectures. Boring projects. She's scatter brain and moody. She doesn't like her opinion to be wrong and wants things done her way or its the high way. No freedom of creativity. I would avoid taking her if you can.

Rebecca Ripple is an awesome artist and a patient teacher. CSUN is lucky to have her. I don't get the negativity on here, there must be a disgruntled student posting repetitively. 141 is the basics of 3D. You won't end up with masterpieces but you will learn how to make all your 3D work much better, especially with composition. Take her if you can.

You don't need a book, lectures are long and boring most terms from book is on her slides. Unorganized and moody. She's very picky when it comes to grading. If you don't do the project her way you''ll get a B or C. There's no point to try to be creative if she'll tell you "how she wants it". Gets mad at student for being late but shes always late.

Boring lectures!! She rambles and she is somewhat scatterbrained. projects take forever and use up a lot of your free time. Wasn't informed when quizzes were or when we had to read.(only happened twice each) If you make the extra effort to talk with her and see what she REALLY wanted out of your project you'll understand eventually and you'll do ok

First off, She is a good person and cares deeply. Her lectures do tend to wander and can be boring. She is helpful but you have to keep asking and be proactive. If there is somewhere you want to get to she will help you get there. No Moodier than any other human being. I recommend her bc she knows what she's doing.
