Dr. Truss is very energetic and enthusiastic. She has a great personality, but she is all over the place. The tests are based on in class activities and lectures. Although there is a clear syllabus and schedule, it won't be followed. Dr. Truss is not clear on what should be done, turned in, and expected for class. Her grading scale is wacky...

Some questions to ask when selecting a professor: When were they last published? Were they published in their field? With respect to Regina, that's 2009 and no. This is hands down the worst professor I have encountered across 6 years of post-secondary education across multiple institutions.

Dr. Truss is easily the worst professor I have ever had in four years at Kalamazoo College. It pains me that I even have to refer to her as a professor as she is painfully incompetent. She makes up for the little that she knows with almost annoying enthusiasm. She is a nice woman, just a truly terrible professor. She cannot answer questions at all.

The model used to teach our class was a flipped classroom model. Sadly Dr. T did not employ it correctly leading many to be upset and disappointed. I learned little and I love chemistry

Very unapproachable professor. Makes you feel like you're bothering her. Complains about work. Doesn't teach concepts or make goals clear. Yells and is rude when asked questions. Overall the worst professor I've had. And I even had a successful flipped lecture CHEM 110 experience with Dr. Bartz. I was expecting much more and better.

Awful class. Dr. Truss used a dysfunctional version of the "flipped classroom" technique and executed it poorly. Did not teach during lectures, expected students to learn from a pre-recorded slideshow voiceover. Many students felt confused and very unprepared for her exams.

I had Dr. Truss for both Intro Chem II and Biochem, and she is a fabulous teacher ! She is extremely passionate about helping her students, about getting others interested in science, and about giving back to the community. She's such a role model on how to be a successful woman in the sciences!
