Comment:
Renee is a good professor and definitely knows her stuff, but she does not dumb it down to the level of a college student who is taking this for psychology, and not because they want to devote their life to statistics. Take home exams saved my grade! I would take her over any other prof because of them. Lectures are very confusing at times too.

The class is challenging but not impossible by any means. As long as you stay on top of the homework assignments and quizzes and attend the lectures, you'll be fine. Dr. Galliher only has take-home tests which is really helpful.

I LOVED this course. And I HATE math. This professor does her best to teach a tough topic in a conceptual way. Stats is one of those topics where you'll either totally flow with the instructor's style or you'll hate it. I loved her style. Mainly, she gives take-home stats tests with a week to complete them. The take home tests saved my semester.

This class was great because you can work in groups for everything- homework, quizzes, tests... and tutors are always available to help. But her lectures are confusing and it takes a lot of work to do well. Homework is worth a lot so DO IT. You have to self-teach yourself, but if you put in the work, you can get a good grade.

I loved this class. I could work in groups for the exams and had the option to have my exams looked over by tutors. Homework and quizzes were kind of tough, but not to difficult if the material is understood.

I came into the class knowing statistics. I found that even easy concepts in statistics she made much more confusing and complicated than was needed. If the class had gotten a question wrong on the quiz she would go over how to get the correct answer and we still had to ask what the right answer was. There are tutors available.

Minored in stats because of this course. Proved to be highly lucrative as my minor paid $25/ hour as a stats consultant in grad school. Well worth the investment. Now a prof making less than I did then_also didn't get an A- stop your whining. Anything worth having, is worth working for.

I think she is a great professor. The lab teacher, Matt S. and Dr. G. really compliment each others' teaching style. The class requires a lot of work, and the exams can be difficult, but as long as you keep up and take notes in class and in lab, you'll do fine.

Galliher teaches as if she's just trying to show off her knowledge instead of actually seeing if we understand what she's saying. She talks too fast. I promise you WILL NOT understand what she is saying in lectures. But you have to go anyway because she asks stupid participation questions.

If you miss class often, you'll crash an burn. Show up and do the work, however, and you'll probably be just fine. I've heard people complain about the class, and without fail, they skip lectures often. It IS a difficult class, sure, but it's advanced statistics. Stay on top of stuff, because she moves rather quickly. Very thorough lecturer.

If you want your faith in higher education ruined, this is the perfect class. The teacher (can't bring myself to use professor) is horrible. Additional money you have to spend on the statistics software & books kills you. Questions go unanswered, topics go uncovered, but the teacher proudly says "I been teaching this for years." Really? Really?

Dr. Galliher is no-nonsense and moves quickly, but she is also clear. This course is challenging, but an A is attainable. Be sure to never miss class unless absolutely necessary. I recommend printing off all the Powerpoint slides Dr. Galliher provides on Blackboard and following along in lecture with those, taking notes of your own, as well.

She talks fast, but does give examples, and repeats information. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS if you have any other demanding classes. Online Aplia Homework is not well done (IMO)doesn't give you warning if you miss a line or space. A LOT of material in a short amount of time- I wasn't able to absorb before moving to next concept. need to keep up n focus

She talks too fast! This class is difficult. You will need to go everyday and take a lot of notes which is hard because she speeds through the material. The class was really organized. There is time intensive homework. The take home tests are really hard and so are the online monitored tests. If you are not good at stats drop the class now!

I ended up dropping this class, I was failing beyond belief! I don't like math at all which was part of the problem, but I couldn't even handle this class.
