Hashimoto is one the best teachers I've ever had. The guy is straight up hysterical, I don't think I've ever laughed that hard in a class before. The course work is light, just reading and a few papers. Most classes are just discussion, which makes it much more interesting than just some guy rambling on. Take this class!

My favorite teacher at MC. You will write ALOT, but he is a fair grader. His classes are pretty lively, and he's an interesting old man!

I took a course with Professor Hashimoto around 1980 or '81. I still remember him fondly, as being extremely intelligent and funny. To this day, from time to time, I still talk about him and my wonderful experience of getting to know him and enjoying his personality and his Philosophy class. I wish him well, and hope to connect w/him again someday.

Hashi is so funny and sweet. Definitely likes to go off on tangents. It's a laid back class, we did not thoroughly cover all the material we were supposed to. Paper grading is not easy but not too tough either. Make sure you use good grammar! I think we only did 4 papers this semester. Those are the only grades.

Hashi is an absolute character with many stories and a plethora of knowledge. Although I do not recommend taking him for Roots: Philosophy, definitely take him for any other more specific course where you're not just getting introduced to the subject material. He's insanely hilarious, very smart and can conjure up great discussion.

Definitely plays favorites and is a grammar nazi. Class attendance isn't mandatory and he'll only force those he likes (or remembers) to participate. Extremely liberal-- keep up with politics and that will earn you brownie points in class. Take him if you're a Gov, History or Sociology major because he's better at those than Philosophy..

You'll either love or hate Hashimoto. Funny, eccentric and sarcastic. He often goes on tangents, but the class itself is not very hard. Sit in the front, participate often, and agree with him when you can. His papers are somewhat long (8 pgs) and can be annoying. Overall not a hard class, and Hash is really nice guy. Just fwi, extremely liberal.
