Arthur was an excellent Prof. He explained difficult logical concepts well and fairly evaluated his work. I have heard that he is not as good in other courses.

Excessive reading, unclear explanations, had no time for first year students. If his Philos1E03 class was the first philosophy class I took I would never take another.

He has that 'I don't care' attitude, his lectures lack any sort of passion for the subject matter (which makes them boring), and he makes it very clear that he doesn't care about the welfare of his students. I most definitely will not be taking any other courses taught by him again.

Lectures were long and tiring. Overall Lectures were not helpful at all and did not make any sense. The readings were insanely long and strenuous. Tutorials helped a little but not by much. Overall I learned the course ware by myself through the textbook despite still going to lectures.

Comment:
It was hard to pay attention in this class especially since it is a 2 hour lecture at night. He had a British accent which was pretty cool but he is very monotoned, goes over the material quite quickly and the slides can be confusing at times. The information was actually interesting if you were able to pay attention or by simply reading the text

I had him for Logic and Enlightenment philosophy. He can be difficult to pay attention to, but he explains this very clearly. He also marks fairly and gives great feedback. Speaking to him after class, he also seems like a good & extremely intelligent guy. He's also happy to give help and advice, so long as you put some effort into his class.

Comment:
The Professor and his textbook were both useless (not surprising as he wrote the text. He said he would do no midterms as to not stress students (if you get sick and do bad on one), but he had a 50% final (yeah not stressful at all). He also used his own website instead of the prescribed standard one (his website wasn't helpfull at all) Horrible

Comment:
In philosophy 2B03, he does not explain things clearly, makes many mistakes, goes too fast (we're ahead of schedule) and the textbook is not useful since he was the one who wrote it. Since his lectures were not helpful, his book is not either. Grammar and clarity is an issue.

the accent is cool, but the lectures aren't really that helpful. and i hate having it in the evening. he also doesn't tend to answer questions very well seeing as he doesn't let you finish talking. but if you did the reading, don't bother going.

Explains things VERY clearly, in a monotone, facilitating sleep quite well but so that you understand it inside out (if you can stay awake to hear it).
