No point to go to class since he just summarizes slide show. Tough marker, really picky about how you write. Good thing is there is no midterm and he devotes class time for group meetings. Really approachable and if you need help hes good about it.

I did not like this teacher. he is unclear, confusing...and looking back, I really don't think i've learned a thing in his class. He's also a tough marker, so be prepared to work hard...or you will be crucified.

Easy class, he tells you exactly what to do and how to do it, there is no exam, only papers which are not super easy but interesting and he shows you exactly how he wants the work to be done! Take him!!!

Very helpful and pleasant prof. He even lets you submit first drafts of all assignments. The lectures are all PowerPoint, but he does make an effort to make them interesting. If you follow his suggestions in class and revise your 1st drafts according to his feedback, you’re guaranteed a top grade.

Lectures are powerpoint, it can make you fall asleep if you have the evening class. Assignments are easy, but he is a very hard marker. He says "Come see me if you don't agree with the grade" but after you see him he adds 0.01 to your grade (gee thanks). Grades are also in 2 decimal points Ex: 18.98/25. Just give a 19 would it hurt!!!

He's an alright teacher but he is far too harsh of a grader for an intro class. He won't hesitate to burn you in your written work. If you take him, you better be one hell of a writer and willing to do everything by the letter according to his instruction (literally). He's not the worse choice but you better be willing to work your ass off .

Some people here said he's mean, but not at all. He's a very good teacher. Makes class interesting. Sometimes even put up these clips and all which were interesting to watch. Apart from that, most of the term half the class was spent on group work, which was fun. He is a fair marker as well.. just do everything he asks you to in his notes.

Mr.Ashby needs to realize he is a communications instructor and as such should refrain from personal observations and opinions about students. His role is to educate, evaluate, advise, critique, etc. stictly on matters of business communication, and not to offer up unwarranted personal critisism. Feed his fragile ego and you will get your A+.

Only complaint is that he appeared to lose interest in the class towards the end of the semester. He was kind of harsh with how he communicated with people during oral presentations, especially the foreigners who didn't understand that their time was up. As others mentioned, if you follow what he says to the letter, you'll have no problems.

Could be a bit too arogant for his own good some time making him a bit un approachable but good techer. Very helpful in the sense that he allows a first draft of everything he assigns, which he corrects for you. Good prof, should take.
