Dr. Bauer is a super respectable and helpful guy. He or his aids are almost always accessible for help if you need it. All tests are multiple choice, 25 questions. You definitely have a decent amount of homework, but it is relatively easy, with unlimited attempts. Just don't get behind, and study a few days before exams and you'll be fine.

Dr. Bauer is an incredible teacher and makes chemistry a bit easier to understand for beginners. He truly wants everyone to succeed. You'll get the most help out of his lectures as he goes step by step through problems. Tough class but not so bad when he's the one teaching it.

I wouldn't recommend taking this course for a generic science credit if you're not a health major. Dr. Bauer's lectures tend to be geared toward health majors and expect that of students. Tests are difficult but lowest score is dropped, online homework is easy points and if you get a good lab instructor so is that.

I hate his class honestly. Lectures are boing and his examples aren't very clear. I went to his office hours once and I felt like he was irritated that I was there asking for help. Plus his exams and homework are hard. Homework can be lengthy and difficult. He does do lecture quizzes, so I recommend going to class.

He is easy to approach. Makes chemistry sound interesting. Also makes examples of chemistry encounters in the real world very much, especially for future medical students. Text book not needed! Online connect has it available.

Great teacher & very helpful. Chemistry in general was difficult for me but I ended up with and 88 in the class which is an A. He lectures off power points. I didn't really use the textbook, so I just recommend buying the access code. Don't miss lecture, he does lecture quizzes for points. Tests are fair, but studying is a must!

Professor really knows the material, only references powerpoint. Makes concepts relatively easy to understand. Textbook has good layout and matches what is said in class. Tests are multiple choice, knowing the definitions will not do you any good. Must know how to apply to concept using mathematical equations that he provides. 120

Pretty basic class, mostly an extension of honors high school chemistry. His lectures weren't great, but the book was clear. Tests were easy, all were 25 multiple choice questions. Worth going to lectures because attendance quizzes are worth 5% of your grade. Overall, not hard to do well in this class if you put in the time and effort.

Dr. Bauer breaks it down very good. I hated this class and the tests were pretty much impossible. I never knew what was going to be on the test and the review sessions were usless. He is a very good teacher who knows his stuff but it is a very boring class.

Chemistry is hard but Dr.Bauer breaks it down and takes things slow so you can understand. Out of the two professors available Downtown, I HIGHLY recommend Bauer for Chem 101.

Dr. Bauer is cool and pretty funny! He's a pretty good lecturer for the most part. Make sure to go to class b/c those quiz points add up. Read the chapter before lecture and the info will come to you a lot faster. Make sure to go to the test review sessions b.c they are almost exactly like the test just numbers changed. TA's are really helpful too.

I loved him. He is funny but also knows what he is talking about. He is also always willing to answer your questions to help better understand. The only hard part is the lab portion because it takes time. The tests were straight through as well as long as you pay attention.

It's Chem... it's gonna be hard. But Bauer can break it down "for dummies" if you ask him for help. GO TO CLASS! The TA's are a great resource too, but it is important to ask for help BEFORE you get behind because it's all comprehensive and there's no turning back when you're too far gone.

Its chemistry, so its going to be hard. He makes it easy to understand IF and MUST go to lectures and take notes! otherwise you're lost. USE the BOOK for practice and to cleary understand. Bauer has good TA that are every helpful. Its a fairly easy class.
