Comment:

Professor Branton was one of the two best teachers I ever had at WCU. I admired the fact he and Professor L'heureux would challenge each other with difficult math problems. He was truly dedicated to his craft and wanted his students to feel the same. And he couldn't imagine anyone not feeling the same. To learn from someone so passionate is a gift.

Comment:

Great teacher, but comes late to his own class and only holds office hours for an hour a week. Branton was great, but the Wednesday morning tutor was useless. Easy tests, but doesn't give much partial credit. All in all, I have to say that Dr. Branton is simply the best teacher for Calculus I at this University. He failed me and I still love him

Branton does not seem to care about his students doing well in his class.He comes to class at least 10 minutes late EVERY day. Twice so far he has not shown up to class and I have wasted a good fifteen minutes waiting for him to arrive. His tests are very definition based, which i find ridiculous for calc. 3/4 the class dropped since the first test

I took calc in high school and this guy confused me so much I almost failed the course! When grading a quiz he took off 10 points on a 5 point problem and then refused to reconsider this decision. Take anyone else!

OMG. So confusing...I lvoed math before I took this class. I was so confused, I actualyl had to drop the class. I even took Calc in high school..and i got by with B's..i had an F in this class. He does probs and realizes he messed up 1/2 way thru and then he goes back and erases the whole thing!!

He doesn't explain anything. I got A's in all my math courses up until this point, now I'm failing and need to withdrawl. He may be the chair of the math department but he's a horrible teacher...A great advisor but an absolute mess in class. He gets confused and then confuses you. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!

He's one of the only professors who cares about his students. He is funny, and treats you like you're an adult, not an idiot. Yeah, he's crazy, but that's all part of learning a hard subject. The people who criticize him on this board don't show up!!
