Comment:
Dr. Bunce is a difficult professor, but that being said, no organic chemistry professor is going to be simple, easy by any means. Dr. Bunce is organized and helpful when it comes to a test and study guides. However, you always have to go a mile further with your own study to be able to pass/do well in the tests.

Bunce is the lessser of the evils with Chemistry professors. Hes not great, but he is organized and prepares you well. Material will be given to students that attend SI sessions that wont be given in class. Hes demeaning when answering questions in class but very kind one on one.

Dr. Bunce is a great professor. Now, here me out on this, Organic Chemistry is no joke so don't expect to get an A if you have struggled in chemistry before. With that said, Bunce does a good job of not making the class unnecessarily hard. Most of the questions his exams are simple questions that you should be able to figure out if you STUDY HARD.

He's a solid professor. Not the best Chem teacher ever, but by far one of the best ones at OSU (in my opinion). He does loads of problems on the board and if you attend class every day, you find yourself learning things simply by copying his notes. You really need to study and know definitions to get a good grade, but I'd take him again.

Dr. Bunce was a good choice for CHEM 1314. The tests were multiple choice, which I liked. He gave examples for problems in lecture, had help sessions, and gave extra practice questions to do on your own. He did answer questions in a condescending manner a lot of the time, but because of how much I learned, I would take him again.

I took Bunce Spring '18. He is the best chem1314 teacher, and though he is still difficult, if he taught chem1515, I would take him again. He uses lots of problems to explain the concepts and offers weekly review sessions. The tests are hard but manageable. He is very condescending when students ask questions and make them scared to ask anything.

Dr. Bunce is not fit to teach an undergrad class. He often answers student's questions in a belittling and condescending manner. The tests are over the same content that is covered in class, but taken to an extreme. He doesn't post grades other than the midterm. The only decent part of this class is his grading scale. Wouldn't recommend Dr. Bunce.

Whenever someone had a question about the work he would say it in a derogatory manner. Made me feel stupid if I was confused and spoke to me like I should know this already. He's not mean just expects you to always know the material. Don't recommend if you've never taken a chemistry class before.

Good instructor overall, this class just requires you to put in time and effort outside of class to understand and maintain the material. He explains everything well & is able to answer questions clearly.

His class was extremely hard and multiple choice exams were tough. Homework and lab grades help to boost overall grade & adjusted grading scale helps too. You have to study every single day to succeed & he's not very approachable outside of class. TA's can be very helpful for reviewing for exams. No extra credit but gives exam review.

His class was VERY difficult and there were little to no opportunities for bonus credit. However, through using his old exams, you can understand what material will be on the tests and HW is worth 1/6 of your grade. So with the adjusted scale (C=60%, B=76%, A=88%), passing the class is possible.

Bunce makes this class possible. It still is a very difficult subject, but the TAs will help you out with the material. Old exams are also given. Weekly help sessions are offered, and there is a review for every exam.

Class is challenging but so is every ochem 2 class. He's a very good professor & teaches/explains things very well. Tests are hard but not ridiculous just make sure you understand the mechanisms & syntheses not just memorize. He offers 10pts extracredit on each exam but they're tough!! DO well on problem sets they help your grade! Use the book too

He is super witty and very thorough in all of his lectures. His notes are VERY extensive, but they are a lifesaver because that is where he gets his homework and some test questions from. TAKE NOTES!!! Attendance isnt mandatory but I found that missing a day will set you back a lot. Tests are hard, but he gives you tables and equations to work with

This class is pretty easy if you had high school chemistry. He gives all the equations and conversions on the tests. He isn't that great at explaining some things, but every week he has a review session that is very helpful and much more personal. He is very funny and nice also. Overall it is pretty easy as long as you don't slack off.

You take notes all the time, but thats what college is for. This course is hard no matter what but if you didn't take chemistry in high school then you will struggle in this class because he doesn't completely explain everything he writes down. The tests are only 25 questions but they are quite hard.

A difficult class no matter who is teaching it (if not in summer), but Bunce totally beats Berlin. He grades more harshly at the end, but he actually has a sense of humor to him and is not a male chauvinist. His notes are very well organized and clear. Too bad I didn't memorize mechanisms so I am taking him again this year. Not afraid to fail you.

Nicest handwriting ever. His notes give you everything you need to know for the test. There are just a lot of notes! Its hard material in the first place, but he does a good job of narrowing down all the material into his notes. You can miss class as long as you get the notes from a friend, because everything he says in class he writes down.
