He is my absolute favorite teacher! He asks you to do things that are a little weird or uncomfortable, but just try it! It's just singing, you won't die from it. Dr. Chagnon knows what he is doing, and can do amazing things to help anyone sing better than when they first came in. He really wants to help everyone grow in their vocal abilities.

Chagnon is hands down the most inspirational teacher at Mesa. Show up for class (on time), learn your music, and dare to be wrong. Chagnon creates a safe and supportive environment where even students who suffer from immense stage fright find themselves growing in leaps and bounds. If you let it, his class will become like a second home.

Taking this professor again ! very inspirational, he also takes his time to help you where we need the most help on. However he is somewhat strict on attendance. You have to sing in front of the whole class so that's a part I didn't like, besides that I loved this class.

Chagnon is AWESOME! He is hilarious, and very helpful! There's about 3 quizzes and to be able to get a grade for a son performance, you NEED to pass that quiz. He lets you retake them but only gives you a minimum score. I highly recommend this professor! He is the best, and passionate about his job.

I seriously look to Dr. Chagnon as a father figure. I've been in his choir for almost 3 years and it is been the best experience of my life! I met so many awesome people, sing amazing pieces, and have improved as a singer. He is also my vocal coach, and he is extremely passionate about voice and very knowledgeable. He has high expectations!

Fantastic Prof. Crystal clear in expectations, explanations are varied and easy to understand, he's patient with reviewing things if anyone is struggling, available after class as well. YOU WILL sing in front of the class, YOU WILL use the book on a regular basis. I found it very easy but others were very challenged, he progressed at a middle pace.

Just great. Class is fun, engaging, and he's super helpful. But expect to practice, music is just like any other class, if you don't do the homework you struggle. And I have to say Dr. Chagnon has built up an impressive tolerance of pitchy singers. The reason textbook use is high is because you're obviously reading music.

This teacher is definitely one of the best teachers that I've had in college yet. I have taken him for voice classes as well and I know for a fact that he will help you as long as you ask for it. Be prepared: You will be singing in front of the class. However, you don't have to be an amazing singer. Just practice and you'll do fine. :)

be prepared to sing in front of the entire class...on the first day. it's nerve racking at first but you get used to it. good place to learn if you have no musical experience. the class moves a bit too slow and i got bored quickly. but it's a very easy A. show up, do the work, practice outside of class.

Prof Chagnon is awesome! The class was a lot of fun and while it was nerve-wracking at first you start to look forward to performing in front of the class. Everyone has to do it and my class was all really supportive of each other. He has really neat techniques for helping specific problems when you're singing.

funny guy, good teacher. prepare to be bored if you already know how to read music. if you don't know anything about music this is a good place to learn. he goes slow enough to make sure no one gets behind. a very straight-foward basic class. be ready to sing in front of strangers.

OMG. I enjoy music, but this was the worst class ever. I ended up dropping out part way through the semester, I'm taking the class in spring at SWC. The teacher is full of himself and if you don't meet his expectations you are made to feel unwelcome.

I really enjoyed this class. For me it was an easy A. It doesn't take much for a good grade in this class, with a little motivation you will do good. I thought the teacher was great. He has a funny personality. The class was fun. I would refur this class to anyone who loves to sing!

I found Dr. Chagnon to be a great private voice teacher. He really helped me to improve with projection, diction, and vocal clarity. He has increased my motivation and confidence as a singer. He has a great personality too and can always make you laugh. I would recommend this teacher for anyone looking to become a better singer.
