Don't take classes with Conley. I get it, Irish Gov & Politics sounds fascinating. It should because it's a fascinating subject. Just not when Conley is teaching it. No tests, no quizzes, no notes, no real lectures. We watched 3 Irish movies. One big paper is your only grade and you'll never know why you didn't get an A. Don't take his class.

Papers and discussion post due every single week. It doesn't matter if you know the whole Constitution for that exam either because he asks questions that are next to impossible. Highly don't recommend. Reading and taking good notes and watching every lecture should pay off, but not with this prof. Wish I could drop it and take with someone else.

In POS2041 online, you will need to do all of the reading. This includes the "reader" that is additional to the textbook. This is a basic class but it can present difficulties, especially during the exams. The exams cover material from every source, so be sure to watch the lectures as well.

Conley is a strict professor. His class consists of a significant amount of reading and some test questions are intensely specific. He sets clear standards and there are no surprises, so putting in the work guarantees an A. His lectures and materials are clear and organized. Don't ask questions, you will get poor, non-response, sarcastic answers.

Great Professor, gets a bad rep because he's a conservative in liberal-ville USA. Very caring of student's success. Very entertaining lectures and fair grader. If you show up, participate and simple listen to what he has to say, you will get an A.

This professor was very unclear with directions when it came to assignments. When I asked about my grade on a specific assignment he pointed me to the syllabus. When I found no answer there I repeated my inquiry to which he didn't respond. He is extremely picky when it comes to grammar and is conceited.

As great as an intro. online course sounds to a UF student, do NOT take this class if you have other demanding activities/courses. I am an English major, and I was reading as much in this class as my upper-division major courses. The amount of busy-work is ABSURD. He has a rude demeanor, and won't be bothered with your questions. Pick a diff. prof.

I love politics, but hate this online course. Instructor Conley is terrible. He is rude and is very picky when it comes to grammar. The instructions for his assignments were very confusing and burdensome. I had a two page paper due almost weekly. Does not give study guides. His power points are not very good. Don't take this course.

I took his class online and every email he sent the class the whole semester was extremely rude. He refuses to answer questions and gets annoyed easily. However the weekly work is simple and the class is an easy A if you do the work. However the grader for the online class failed to give substantial feedback, and it's impossible to argue your grade

Awful. I took the online portion. He would have a hissy fit anytime I emailed him a question and then respond with an arrogant answer. He frequently got mad at our class when we emailed him simple questions. You don't learn much and he isn't very helpful considering he is always trying to convince you why he was right and you are wrong.

Don't take a class with him if you can help it. He is a nice man who clearly loves his subject, but he spends little time in class on topic. In our 2 hour block, we talk about the New York Times for half the class and about the reading for 15-20 minutes. It's not worth it, there are few grades, and you don't learn much.

Conley does a spectacular job with this course! The lectures are mandatory, but they are worth attending. He is an entertaining and engaging lecturer. We hardly ever used the textbooks and you can get by with just looking it over. While there are only a few assignments, it should be fairly easy to make a decent grade.

One of the worst classes available in the college. The professor was incompetent in removing his bias from the course, rarely went over the notes, and was infuriatingly ignorant when he wasn't outright dull. You will leave this class with partisan propaganda and little knowledge of the actual subject matter.

Absolutely horrible professor! Rants on about own beliefs and not information for class or exams. Never posts slides. Doesnt use sakai. Useless study guides. Useless to read book because exams are based on his random comments not related to class info. Mandatory attendance. Tests on amendment numbers not info! Subjective! Avoid at all costs

Very disappointed in the professor. He spoke more about his personal views than what is on the exams. He never mentioned what we need to know for the exams. I received all A's in my other courses and obviously not in this course. Some people learn better by hearing the information rather than sit and read a textbook over and over for hours.

Seriously disappointed by this class. He doesn't really teach what we will be tested on. I practically had to teach myself from the book and I still didn't get good grade. DO NOT TAKE IT.

Prof. Conley does a great job of interweaving current events and relevant topics into the content of the class, something most teachers tend to avoid. He sets clear expectations and is always more than willing to help his students with any questions or concerns. I've had him for 4 classes now and I can easily say he's hands down one of the best.

if the TAs didnt take attendance in this class of 200 people, i would never go. His lectures are a joke because he rants on for an hour about current events that have nothing to do with the material we are supposed to cover. We take literally no notes and hes incredible bias and rude. Ive learned nothing and I hate this class.
