Comment:
NEVER TAKE HIS CLASSES! He is the worst professor I have ever had! He makes things more confusing, he tends to test on things and then teach the material after the exams, and he talks incessantly about the medical field ignoring other career options completely. I will switch schools or majors before I take one of his classes.

TERRIBLE. Needed to retire 15 years ago. Sucks all the life and fun out of chemistry.

No coddling or spoon feeding. Is willing to help those who help themselves. If you skim the text prior to lecture, his lectures are very beneficial. If you expect to ignore the text and be taught as if in high school...you will struggle. Overall great prof. I disagree with the statements about his propensity toward pre-med students.

Just stumbled across this page while surfing, I had Dr. Jeffereys about 30 years ago and he was the same them... difficult to follow, considered anyone not pre-med to be something to wipe off his shoe...(always wore a white lab coat to "lecture"... frustrated MD wannabe?), and the poor man couldn't stay on topic to save his life. Horrible,

The text and material was average difficulty, but the teacher made it ten times harder than it needed to be. Nothing was explained well,he had trouble staying on topic, was not helpful in the least, and only showed a real interest in those pursuing a medical degree. Class period was a complete waste, and he was the worst teacher I've ever had.

Greatest college professor I've ever had. Classes aren't easy, but you will do well if you put the time into it. Will always help. Genuinely cares about students and getting students to the next level.

AIDS is the gay plaque, this statement when the #1 group of people becoming HIV positive were white, heterosexual 18-24 years olds. Great way to teach awareness. FYI, Jefferies, I took your class fifteen years ago, and we all STILL joke about your beefsteak tomato tyrades. I will gave that part pure comedy.

Perfect teacher if you already have strong biology and chemistry background or if you are a self learner. Good question answerer. However, if you don't know that much about the subject or you don't know what questions to ask, you might fail. Doesn't go over material in class.
