Comment:
Richard uses Global Perspectives as a platform to vent his own beliefs; I found his comment that African Americans don't have their own culture particularly problematic. His lectures are ultimately about his own opinions and experiences more than the actual material, and he delivers said opinions in a way that is both abrasive and offensive.

He is Indiana Jones.... Great professor the tests and quizzes are mostly based on the vocab in the book. There is one group project and another project but very easy assignments. He is super sarcastic and some people don't realize he is only joking. I think he is one of the better professors i have had. Definitely would recommend.

He is very blunt, but he's also smart (knows it too). Although tough, caring. No matter who you have for Global Perspectives, you will have tons of homework, tests, and assignments. But they're graded by the "travel guides" (sort of TA's). Since they're students too, they're usually nice and chill.

He is a great instructor that knows his material. I credit him for my being able to finishing college. Circumstances beyond my control almost forced me to leave school and Dr. Jones helped me by putting me in contact with people who were willing to help me finish some of my courses thorough directed studies. Very kind man!

Comment:
Dr. Jones sometimes comes off as very brusque and gruff. He does tell some really cool stories about the places he's been, but a bit condescendingly. With most professors at Lee you can really tell they care, but honestly, I didn't really get that impression from Dr. Jones. Maybe he is friendlier to his Anthropology major students?

For freshman coming into Lee University when you take this class the best way to handle it is to go to class, listen to the teacher, and turn in your assignments and you should be ok.

Dr. Jones is extremely blunt and often seems very arrogant. If you take his class, you should note very quickly that he likes the Arabs and hates the French. most of the academic grade is dependent on you travel guide (they grade everything). just tough out the lectures with him and you'll be fine

He was ok. He was very pompous. He acted like he was the only one that had ever been on a mission trip and we would never understand. and We were horrible Americans. You have a read very section and an quiz every class. but the class is super easy. You just have to listen to him talk about himself.

i'm a major, so maybe it doesn't irritate me as much, but Dr Jones is VERY blunt and he often seems arrogant, but that is honestly just his "class personality" toward non-majors who he knows are taking the class out of being forced. take the class, he's amazing and will teach you anything and everything, and do the HW, you'll make an A. AMAZING guy

Very easy to make an A, but he is the most arrogant person I have ever met. I wouldn't suggest taking him for Global Perspectives. He was also extremely rude to people who speak in class. He acts like his opinion is the only one that matters. I don't know how he still has his job.

Do the work, pay attention, participate and you will do great. Dr. J. is ex-navy (his bluntness) but beyond knowledgeable. Great professor who rewards hard-work and effort and calls out those who don't want to learn.

The way class goes for you all depends on who your Travel Guide is. My travel guide graded very liberally, so I easily got an A. All you need to do is show up and do the assignments and you'll be fine. He can come off as condescending, and sometimes that gets really annoying.

One of the most arrogant professors I've met. Don't take unless you don't mind some antisemitism, his assumption that all Americans are stupid and ignorant, and all other discussion revolving around him. I hated his class!
