Kimmis is a pretty cool guy. He's pretty old and talks about his kids a lot which is funny. Pay attetion to the stuff that is dry. He likes to test on that. Overall pretty good

Buy the book. 65% of his test comes from it and he doesn't go over it in class. What he does go over in class is usually interesting - his tests are split into lecture and book so definitely go to class and read the book.

Dr. Kimmis has been in the field for many years, and his experience comes through very clearly. At times the class wasn't too interesting, but these were few and far between. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. Dr. Kimmis uses a lot of real world examples, that bring home what he is talking about. The text is well written as well, and a keeper.

Oh my god. Boring. Boring. Boring. And the book.... is, the worst thing I've ever had to read. And you can't rate this class on ease, since it's curved and just a shear memorization class. No skill involved. But if you want a good mark, go to class and copy down his random comments.

Okay...this class is seriously dull...he goes off on these irrelevant tangents forever...it's not necessary to go to class actually...his tests are all from the book (mostly) he calls his students "Boys and Girls" like 10 times a class...whcih is really degrading if you're like 25...overall this class makes my life miserable!

The class was boring, & completly pointless for secondary teachers as it is almost entirely on behaviors & growth patterns of children. I rarely attended. If you feel like I & do skip most classes, be prepared to take a 20-35% hit on your tests, as these are how many IN CLASS questions there are on the test. Write down any examples he gives!

Textbook gives 85 percent of his quest's on all tests. Make study notes on all exams incld. specific studies and researchers as he pulls oneliners from text.Overall I seldom went to class memorized the text, and did 80-85's on MT1and2, non cumi final! Drawback of not going to lecs is missing only 15percent of material tested even though he says 30.

He is a good prof, he is fun & does all he can to make class managable, but EDPY 200 is the worse course you will ever take, it's so boring & irrelevant to becoming a teacher, expessically if u are becoming a secondary teacher. Text was horrible & painful to get through & you HAVE to read it. His exams r hard. No prof could make this a good class

35% of test questions come from IN class. [like his examples] The rest is textbook. The class covers every chapter in the textbook! Not the best or worst professor I've every had.

Classes are incredibly pointless. He rambles on a lot about himself and barely touches on the stuff you need to know. Fortunately this means you never have to attend his classes as long as you read the textbook and memorize tiny details (that's what he likes to test on)

If you like to skip classes, this is the prof to enroll in with!! You don't need to go his classes but make sure you memorize the text book for his exams! They aren't that hard and if you think too hard, you'll get it wrong. i guess i learnt the hard way

Talked about himself and his family's and his own achievements non-stop. Didn't listen to questions/comments, just looked for a way to involve himself in another story about the glory days. Final was ridiculous, none of the above on almost every question. Read the textbook.

The material is brutally boring but he does a good job of adding humor and relating it to teaching. However the exams are painfully unfair. I realize that MC is the only way to grade 300 students, but test on broad ideas, not minute details that have no impact on the student becoming a better teacher.

Great prof. has a sense of humour, provides interesting illustrations, provides real life examples... Kimmis prepares students to be real teachers... not just being familiar with the class material but being able to rock in the real world of teaching... for me it was the best class this semester.

Having just written a midterm of his, I can say that a lot of these comments are unfair. There were a couple q's that seemed a little ambiguous, but i raised my hand and he came over and actually helped me with them. He's not boring. I'm surpised that FUTURE TEACHERS are giving him a bad rap on here. If you study the stuff you'll do fine.

I really enjoyed his class. Kept you interested, i felt that we talked every main topic with regards to education. It motivated me to go into education even more. The exams are a ****, but doable. Good job, but not exceptional either.
