I agree with every negative thing said about him here and then some! The WORST. I searched for something like ratemyprofessors.com after having failed his ridiculous and irrational statistics course so that I could warn others! I got an A on the retake. He clearly hates young people and has nothing good to offer the world and should just die.

BY FAR...the worst professor at USM!!! He not only was a terrible teacher but also made you feel worthless while in his class. I have never met anyone who was more degrating and made you feel humiliated while in class. I dropped his class because I was doing horrible and couldn't stand him anymore!!! I can't wait for the day he gets fired!

Kratzer is a conundrum. Talks like Winnie the Pooh, wears his tie untied EVERY DAY. There are few people who succeed in his class, but I managed somehow to get a B-, and tutored the rest of class. Dont bother w/him. He's famous here, ask around about him.

when i asked questions he would not explain them, he would always answer with, "what do you think". how you suppose to learn with that, if i am asking the question than i dont know how to do it, obviously!! he should have retired 80 years ago...

Took his class 3 years ago and was shocked to see that he wasn't forced into retirement. he's the reason tenure shouldn't exist. His classes should not be taken under any circumstances. No matter how good you think you are, you will get a D at best.

By far the worst professor ever. I asked for help several times (in class and at his office), yet he never answered questions. Instead he commented on my clothing. He should not be allowed to teach to undergraduate students.

I used to be good at math. After taking his class I am not. About 30 people started in the class and only 4 took the final. Do not take his classes. I had the second highest grade and I got a D- the highest grade in the class was a D.

Okay, so he's a stuffy old grump. But he has a quirky sense of humor, and he'll play along with you as long as you don't try to pull the wool over his eyes, assuming as many do that he's an oblivious old man. Go to the study sessions. He'll help you.
