I had Dr. Rich for research methods I, the course was online. He lacked comitment to the course and his communication was lacking at best. You ask a question he responds with a question. not at all helpful. His approach seems to be here's the book go learn it, turn in your assignments, and have a nice day. I'll never take a class with him again.

Read the text book, otherwise you'll fail. the reading is dense and boring sometimes, but its a really good intro class and it makes you think alot.Good teacher, one of the most passionate ive ever had.

Very nice guy (maybe too nice). Obviously passionate and knowledgable. Assigns a lot of readings about environmental and regulatory issues. This can get really boring at times. Material is interesting but he sometimes seems to get discouraged by idiotic students... which drags the class down.

Prof. Rich would be an excellent teacher if he didn't consistently let his political views (very very very liberal) get in the way of his teachings. But besides that, if you put some effort into the class it's pretty easy, but unlike most other students, I think the class is highly interesting.

Dr. Rich is brilliant. I didn't like him at first because he was hard, but I learned a lot & he's really a nice guy if you take a few minutes to talk to him. Even though he is the head of the department, he always has time to talk to a student. Thumbs up!
