I'm not an Anthro major by any means and had to take this class for a GenEd. Professor Robbins is truly an amazing professor and cares about the topics that are discussed in class. If you read the textbook that he wrote it will make the midterm and final "easy a" tests. I have come away from this class with more knowledge about society in general!

The midterm and the final are worth 80% together the project is only worth 20%, but you are required to go to a farm and are given NO criteria on how your presentation will be graded. Tests are based on a bunch of different books. Study guide has over 30 essay questions but the tests only have 6 and you have to choose 4. Hard to study for

Annoying. He will show a movie and the next class you will talk about the movie. All graded work comes from the book. You can essentially read the textbook and just show up to the midterm and final and still get an A in the class. The textbook is confusing and written by him. Quiz every week. Questions made by students from the readings in the book

I would never take a course with this professor again. There are weekly quizzes based on the reading for that week; quizzes are only 2 questions and are student made. Each student writes 2 questions down and he picks 2 out of a hat and those are the quiz questions. I got a 50 on almost every quiz but got an A on the paper, midterm, & final.

I really enjoyed his class! Definitely one of the most experienced and knowledgeable profs on campus. Be warned, you MUST READ! His tests are tough to prepare for and his papers are difficult. Tough grader, very helpful though! I got a 68 on the first paper and a 61 on the midterm but he helped me out a lot and I passed with a C.

Nice guy, but I completely regret taking this class. He puts on a video and leaves the class and then comes back when it is over to have us talk in a circle about it. He has the students write out questions and randomly selects 2 and thats your quiz, so most people do poorly on the quizzes. Read a chapter or 2 per week from the textbook

One of the smartest people I've ever met, and definitely one of the best professors at Plattsburgh. Made me interested in every topic we covered, always encourages classroom debate and conversation. Inspirational, fair, easy-going, cares about students. He really believes his students can change the world, and that's pretty awesome.

very nice professor. He wrote the textbook, but to be honest I find it hard to learn from. We don't take notes, and the quizzes are made by the students which make them hard to study for. I don't feel like I'm learning much, but hes a really intelligent man. not so much a global issues class as a capitalism class.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Had him for the 2h45m ANT102 class on Mondays, and he always had something interesting to talk about. Group discussions were provocative and interesting. Definitely recommend taking any ANT class with him!

This class is a must for any student...whether you are an anthro. major or just need it for general requirements. Opened up my thought process; research essays assigned were moderately easy, especially since he suggests sources for us. Great teacher, highly recommended.

2-question quizzes at beginning of every class based on the reading. Your choice of two or three essays out of six choices - don't wait until the end : ) He wrote one of the textbooks - he knows his stuff. Fun prof - take his class if you get the chance.

Quite Simply, the man! If you dont mind a little bit of reading before every class and 3 essays total for the whole year its a great class. He really knows what hes talking about and isn't a tough grader, but make sure you use stuff from class. No big tests, no final, what more could you want?
