He's not always very clear and talks too fast, but he's a very nice guy and knows so much about his field. If you participate, ask questions and see him outside of class you can learn a lot. Work is fairly easy, just three book and three films, and write reviews for them. As long as you're analytical and use examples, you will do well.

He was an awful teacher. He graded randomly, there were no clear expectations and he really cared about attendance even though he talked about nothing. Hated me for no reason and I'm a history major. Just don't take him unless you want to do bad.

Don't take this class unless you plan on getting coffee before it. Not clear at all about what he expects. Grades randomly, which makes it really hard to figure out what he wants. Grumpy person. Lectures are long and tedious, and he says way too much at once. Its also hard cause he basically barks the information at you. Don't take this class!

Throws too much info at you at once--talks from the minute class starts til it ends. Midterm & final are easy if you study, he tells you exactly what will be on it. HW assignments are easy & you get full credit if you say something, still 4 out of 5 if you don't. The class sometimes dragged & excessive note-taking got tedious. wouldn't take again

Very easy, basically no homework. His power points reenforce the reading so you don't have to read, just take notes when he goes over it. He gives full credit for things basically if you just speak up and say a sentence about the source readings. He is very enthusiastic about history, and full of facts. His midterms and finals are also easy.

He yells in class and attacks people when they are trying to answer his questions. Is very unclear about late work and NEVER EVER checks his e-mail. He's really nice during office hours but he's so mean in class it's almost not worth it.

Old,and grumpier as semester goes on.very random grader, cranky. Quizzes every week, and sometimes he grades you low for no reason. Hard of hearing, often wont hear your question, or see your hand raised. Very stubborn, loud classical music during lecture, sometimes you cant hear him talk. knows every random trivia fact about the past.

Great professor and quite a knowledgeable person. Gives a fair amount of work, and quizzes about every week. Don't slack off in this class though, cause you'll pay for it later. For all the others rating him as boring and hard, cry a little more, cause you're gonna get more of that in college courses.

I hated this class. On top of it being incredibly boring, his grading was unfair and he was extremely vague. Quizzes every week, no papers (only good thing about the class), and homework assignments every so often.

This guy is like a mental archive of all things historical. He can tell you what flavor ice cream Archduke Ferdinand's assasin was eating before he pulled the trigger. His enthusiasm is contagious. The class moves fast and he demands excellency when grading. Register for his class if you like to be challenged.

Father Rolf needs to retire, plain and simple. The entire semester is nothing but listening to him talk. He discourages questions by answering with attitude and shows no empathy towards his students. Overall the worst prof I have had.

Easy class. Weekly quizes, but gives you the questions ahead of time to study. Quizes also have extra credit. One easy essay on a history topic. Two exams. Take advantage of extra credit...(Hint: I didn't have to take the final.)
