The physics department decided to create an awkward split of Physics 3. I kind of hate it. It was really hard to follow Dr. Shields in lecture, although is his very good at helping one on one and with specific problems. His tests were never a surprise but still takes you alot of work to get an A. This class should be 2 credits in my opinion.

A bit hard to follow during class but if you go in to talk to him he is incredably helpful and very nice. It's a challenging course but I cannot stress enough how helpful it is to go in and ask questions one on one. Overall great class

Great Prof. Very funny, makes great powerpoints that makes concepts easy to understand. Awesome examples, and gives study guides for each test which are very helpful. Great teacher and class recommended.

AWESOME class he is a great prof, you learn a ton from him. If you have trouble you have to go see him, he does the problems on the assignments for you. He gives and extra credit review assignment at the end, which helps a ton. If you understand the concepts = A. Long and midly tough final, I studied a ton and got an A. TAKE HIM!!!

If you want to have the worst time in your life, sign up for this class. WORST CLASS EVER! So boring, so much work, so difficult. But don't take my word for it. Ask any non-physics major about his class and you'll see what I mean. He doesn't teach- he only does examples, but doesn't explain them. AWFUL.

I got a solid A but this teacher is very demanding. His writing on the board is not clear so you can't really follow. He is very helpful if you go to his office. He will do all the problems for you but just can't get the concept across. Final is easy contains lots of problems from homework and review assignment.

He's a good guy, but the class is pretty demanding. I studied my butt off and pulled off a B, although i went into the class not knowing any physics. Expect to study physics everynight with the online assignments, which which can get to be a bit much. Just take the class seriously and you'll do fine.

He does not know how to write on a white board clearly at all. With all the numbers, letters, and symbols on the board, you can't tell unless you are listening to him as he writes it down. This makes copying them down difficult. Mostly online.

Very patient and helpful if you go to his office. Tests can be hard but they are just the homework problems with changes so study those really well. Homework is online with many chances to submit the right answer. He will do all the homework problems in class if you ask. Not a bad teacher at all, just put in the work and you'll do fine.

Basically an online course. I went to only 1 or 2 classes a week and got an A. Homework is online, expect to put about 4-5 hours a week into it in order to complete it. Tests just have homework problems. He will help you if you goto his office and give you extensions, very nice guy

only need an 85% for an A. can get him to go over most of the hw probs in class. just do the hw, and labs, and hw probs are changed slightly for tests. put in some effort and you'll get an A pretty easily. ever have probs, go in and talk to him and he's very helpful!
