Dr. Sorce is an extremely intelligent man. I took his musicianship 2 with him and then later did an independent study with him. Throughout the semester, I got to pick his brain, and what I found was fascinating. Definitely a hard professor, but if you ask a lot of questions and show him that you're truly passionate about music, you'll do fine.

I do not like this professor. He made me consider changing my major several times during the course of his class. He plays favorites and if you don't kiss up to him, you won't be on his favorites list. He barely teaches; he just brags about how much music theory he knows. He expects you to know the same. It was a hard class.

I think his teaching style is unorthodox, but very motivational. He tries to weed out anyone lacking the passion to become a serious musician. Trust me, compared to some of the nasty people in the music industry, he is nice. If you ask questions he will answer them thoroughly. Don't be afraid to speak up. Dr. Sorce taught me so much!

I took Sorce for theory at William Paterson and he is a reely amazing teacher IF u know what ur doing. He likes to go above and beyond on tangents about music theory that are reely intersting if u understand them. I highly recommend Dr. Sorce if u did well in previous theory classes or have a lot of time to work. Otherwise, take somebody else.

He is a very interesting man. Participation is 50 percent of your grade. he likes when you ask questions and ask questions otherwise you wont get it. musicianship 2 is very complicated if you dont really grasp it.Always attend otherwise you will be lost. He's kind of intimidating but he is really nice.

Dr. Sorce is an excellent teacher! He is very helpful and explains things until you get it. He gives thought provoking work but if you like music theory or understand it, it's not that hard. You will learn a lot! Definitely take him!!

This class is like pulling teeth, SO BORING, bring a laptop and facebook. You'll get an A but have no idea how. He gives assignments where you'll only know 2 words unless you're a music major, in which case you'll be his obvious favorite.. all my papers were complete ****, I got A's on everything and know nothing about music.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PROFESSORS - Sorce is a funny guy. The classes consist of discussions about the music of the past compared to today's music, and other topics the class is particularly interested in. The final is informal (oral). If you show any interest, it's an EASY A.

Ill put it to you this way...i failed the misterm...the final..and cut class like 8 times. I gotta B+. All you have to do in the class is make sure this guy knows your name, and get good grades on your concert reviews THATS IT! His final is a joke..literally...he doesnt count it. Great guy though if you make a good first impression.
