He is a nice guy, but his classes are very boring. He assigns about 100-200pages to read a week and gives you a 5 multiple choice quiz after each one. So basically, if u get 2 or 3 wrong you are screwed. He gives about 6 options for the multiple choice too, which makes it more difficult. I would not recommend taking this course with him.

Obviously has a ton of knowledge. Easy class if you do the work. If you're interested in anthropology the reading is fun and interesting. If you take notes in class and pay attention it's easy to do well.

Avoid this class!!! He was a nice enough guy but he is clearly not interested in teaching anymore (he is 75 years old as well) and the classes were so dry and boring.

If you have Wills plan to do the readings every week. Generally he assigns about 100-150 pages of reading per week and you given a 5 question multiple choice test every Tuesday. Additionally, you are expected to do two papers, about 10-15 pages each during the semester. The class is not very hard but requires a lot of reading and some effort.

Quizzes weren't too hard if you did the reading, but he assigned 100+ pages a week. On the rare occasion he did lecture they made very little sense to me and didn't even relate to any of the books we read or videos we watched. Since he doesn't use a textbook there was very little structure to the class. A lot of class time was spent watching videos

This class was such a bore. He reads off of a script and nothing we cover in his lectures is ever on a test. The readings a lengthy and dry. He must've cut down an entire forest for all the useless handouts he gave us. Definitely avoid him!

His class consists of videos, weekly quizzes, and personal ramblings (lectures). The class itself is easy, however you a required to do extensive readings for quizzes that consist of only five questions. Unless you're an Anthropology major, I would avoid taking one of his classes.

You read a book a week to write a 5 question mc quiz. Tough to do if you have him for more than one class. Overall very enjoyable. No exams. He is very understanding too. TIP: Do the readings every week as hard as it is.

We spent a class reading each others mid-term papers, then everyone left 10 minutes early with his approval. The next class, he lectured us like we were kindergarten children about leaving early and how it was our job to be there. What a knob. It's funny how I get 20 of his briefcases everytime I get groceries.

He hopped up on the window ledge every day to close the curtains before showing a movie. Very limber man for his age. Must do yoga.

This class is very easy to do well in if you do the readings every week. People who don't do well on his quizzes don't study. He has no midterm or final for most of his classes. A breaze to pass if you put a little effort into it, and his videos are cool.

A nice old gent, and an easy way to sit through class ( movie every second day). But there is a test every week, be warned, and they are multiple choice up to h, i j, etc. basically the tests are ridiculously picky for the amount of reading you'll do. I think he grades on a curve so even if you bomb them ( likely ) you can still get an easy 80.

An intensely intelligent man..clearly knows what he's talking about during lectures. Tests are hard at the beginning but if you do the readings they get easier. Marks research papers pretty generously. Lots of films, but if you're interested in the subject they're entertaining for the most part
